cashew chicken.
1lb bone less chicken.
1/2 cup plainyogurt
1 tb chilli powder.
1tb spoon ginger paste.
1 tb garlic paste.
1/2 spoon shahajeera.
4 cloves.
2 green ealachi.
1/2 cup coconut powder.
1/2 cup cashews.
salt according to taste.
1 big onion.
1/2 spoon turmeric powder.
3 tb oil.
clean the chicken with hot water to remove the excess fat and keep aside. pat dry chicken. add yogurt ,chilli powder,ginger garlic paste,turmeric and add this mixture to the chicken pieces. yogurt tenderises chicken and adds a good taste. marinate this for atleast 1/2 hr
MAKING MASALA.
in a dry pan roast shahajeera,cloves,greenelachi,and cashewsand coconut. cool them. and make into a powder. add little water to make smooth paste .
cut onion into small pieces. take a heavy bottom pan. add oil,when oil is heated add onion.and fry them until they become transperent .now add the marinated chicken to it. nicely mix and cook for 12-15 min. add little water if it sticks to the pan. add salt.and add the masala paste made before.add little bit of water .to make a nice gravy. put the lid and cook for 10 min. when the gravy is turning little thick switch it off. add some corriender leaves and enjoy cashew chicken with rice or roti.
u can add heavy cream too to give the gravy nice consistency.it even adds rich look.
