Going to the war

The tree leaves tapping on my bedroom window,
break the silence in the middle of the night,
All the noises from the video games have vanished,
Now there is whispering silence in my heart and mind.

Think of the young men and women going to strange lands,
To fight for the freedom and glory of our land,
With the heart getting crushed in agony and a goodwill smile,
The loved ones bid farewell with heavy heart and sad eyes.

You may be fighting unseen enemy,
You May be driving over the IEDs and land mines,
With The harsh life, miserable climate and danger lurking from every corner,
The camaraderie of fellow soldiers will give you the will to survive.

You were the knitting thread of the family,
The wife and kids have gone to live with the parents,
The dog has taken refuge the shelter,
Hopefully you will be come home soon to find us together again.

Wherever you may be stationed,
May it be hot desert or an unfriendly oasis?
Think of your family in leisure time,
The memories of love and goodwill will uplift your spirit all the time.

Mundane. Is this supposed to reflect your elite mind or something? Whats the point?
