Poems from Randeep

About Randeep

I had joined the State Bank of Travancore as Probationary Officer in Jan 1980. However I became physically handicapped and in 1992 I lost my job sans any benefits. In order to survive I re-invented myself as a writer

junoon

Dekh mere junoon ka kamaal
Paththar ko bhagwan bana diya
Aur woh itrata phirta hai
Ki usne insaan bana diya.

Possiby the word 'who' is mis-spelt instead of 'woh'. The poet seems to be
awe-stricken that the Almighty who has shaped the stone to an idol has also made the poet sane! Am I right or just took you off your track? Like to have Randeep's comment. Umamahesh

It means this I think.

The poets son junoon has sculpted a man called bagwan from stone and now he is proudly walking around saying he made a real man.

If what CS has said is true, then does it mean what I am thinking? Did Nishant and you make contact?

Wat a piece of poem randeepji, you are champion in writing such things.

In my understanding, literal translation is this

See the heights of my craziness,
I formed a god in a stone

( to clarify, we do idol worship, and poet means to say human is so crazy to give piece of stone a respect of god)

And he is showing attitude
by saying that see i created human

( here "HE" stands for god, and trying to say god says that he made human and its an achievement. But whats so big deal, Human(I) have made god out of stone.

Does that makes sense Randeepji.

It does not make sense Divesh, so Randeep give us your translation. '
I still like CS's translation coz I am a dreamer.

very nice.

There is a poem by Tagore
RathYatra (Charriot parade)
....
..Maha Dhum Dham (great celebration)
..
Bhaktera lutaye pothe (the devotees lying on the street)
Karichhe pranam (saluting)

Rath bhabe aami dev (the charriot thinks it is the God)
Poth bhabe ami (the Street thinks I must be the God)
Murthi bhave ami dev (the idol thinks it must be me)
Hase antaryami (the omniscient laughs)

Randeep ji,
you should not put so many poems at the same time. Under the present web exposure, no one sees your other poems. May be you should withdraw the other poems, and post them slowly over some time. Just a suggestion, I hate to see the good poems not getting proper exposure.

But we are able to see all the poems below the new poem. This is a nice new feature that was added in the new beta version.
