Nintendo Wii: A Cultural Phenomenon

Nintendo was finished. That was the buzz in the video game industry around the end of the life cycle for the Nintendo Gamecube. The system had seen only modest success as Sony's Playstation 2 dominated the video game market. The new buzz was on the Xbox 360 and the Playstation 3. Two machines that promised high definition gaming and multimedia functionality. Nintendo was in a rough place and had to hit back hard. Their answer, The Nintendo Wii.
Upon the announcement of the console name, the entire industry cringed. Wii did not sound like a video game system, it sounded like a bad schoolyard joke. How was this system going to appeal to the typical 12 - 30 year old male video game player?
Nintendo, however, wasn't aiming for this market. It was trying to persuade a new audience to play video games. Particularly women and adults. These are people who either stopped playing video games or never played them in the first place. But how was Nintendo going to get these people to play video games?
Nintendo's secret was in it's motion controller and with it's bundled game Wii Sports. The Wii Remote allowed people who found video games too complicated an easy way to play. Just swing the controller like a tennis racket and your character swings the racket just like you did. It's that simple. And people loved it. The Wii Sports game included interactive versions of Bowling, Tennis, Baseball, Bowling, and Golf. It had something that appealed to everyone. And the video game industry grew because of it. Nursing homes began buying Nintendo Wiis to get the elderly more active. Families started playing games together again. It was a new dawn in digital entertainment.
So it's over a year since the launch of the Nintendo Wii and they still won't sit on store shelves for more than a few minutes. Nintendo has recorded record profits and looks to dominate an industry it seemed to have lost only a few years ago. Sure the Xbox 360 and the Playstation 3 have found their share of success too but Nintendo has grown the market. Nintendo has paved the way for a future where video games will surpass both the movie and music industry in terms of consumption and profits. Who would have thought this would come from a company that looked close to folding it's tents only a short time ago.

Minstering To Your Coworkers

Every day, we are given the opportunity to share our faith with the people in our lives. We spend a good amount of our time at work and we are likely to spend more time with our coworkers than many of our family and friend
When you make the decision to evangelize at work, it is critical that you remember to be respectful to both your coworker, and to your employers. When you hear others around you whining and complaining about their job or their personal life, don't join in the negativity. Remain positive and uplifting. If you can behave more Christ like, and less like a disgruntled employee, others will see that you are different and they will be attracted to what you have.
Remember to always be friendly, kind, polite, and to show a genuine interest in the lives of your coworkers. When possible, invite them out for lunch or a cup of coffee to get to know them better. Congratulate them and tell them they did a good job when things are going well, and be a good listener and be supportive when things are not going well. Make sure you remember what is going on in the lives of your coworker and add them to your prayers. Then, don't forget to follow up by asking if things are improving and remind them that you care.
When your coworkers are talking about what they did the previous weekend, or what they are looking forward to, you can use this as an opportunity to share what you did over the weekend, or to share how excited you are about an upcoming church event or holiday service. If a religious holiday is coming it is OK to ask them if they have any plans to celebrate. Do not be judgmental if they do not celebrate, but make sure that you are ready to explain what the holiday means to you.
Bring a small gift, or a homemade cookie for a coworker. This can be more touching than anything else, it shows you really care and thought about them. Remember that it is our actions that show who we are.
It is also a good idea to bring your Bible with you to work. You can read it at lunch time or on a break. This can be a great conversation started. Wearing Christian jewelry or t-shirts is another great way to catch the eye of another without having to say a word.
Lastly, be sure to pray for you coworkers and for opportunities to share your faith and the love Jesus has for each and every one of them.

Greek History Books, Democracy - America, Soon China

The news today may have been historic. As an earlier brilliant light of early America, Emerson noted while he and his friend Thoreau would read and discuss the ideas of the ages, others would shout loudly about another train derailment. Or there was an uprising in the west, and other events that make the headlines for that day, but will be forgotten soon enough. Some profound things are changing.
Emerson wrote about this with wry wit, about custom being the hobgoblins of little minds. He understood that everyone applied their God given intelligence as best they could, and worked with the power they were given. But greater, and more disciplined minds could but wish that people would push themselves more.
Others, such as David Thoreau, would consider it more worthwhile to go out and sit by a pond, and build himself a house, and live with the animals around the pond and notice how their behavior was so much like our own, even to the point of madness. He could observe red and black ants in their busy day long tasks, carrying small items of great value to the team back at the nest.
But what would puzzle a true American patriot and original such as Henry David Thoreau, would be that even if red and black ants even accidentally collided in their routes, rather than simply back off and get on with the task each of their queens had sent them out on, they would drop their valued packages and begin to attack each other, to the death. It was like Persia ever at the door with sword
Thoreau saw none of the ideals of America by a march on Mexico City by his great democracy, America. To Thoreau this was not his idea of humans in America. I recall that his friend Emerson quietly paid the fine so that David could be released. But if it had been up to him, he would still be in there.
Thoreau was a role model to independence for India a century later used by Mahatma Gandhi, who spent many peaceful days in jail for quiet protest of oppression.
The point of this today was that for the first ever, the not democratically elected President of China spoke on television, and the Mighty Khan abjectly apologized to the frustrated, angry people of China has a relatively unified people, in India, a teeming democracy that voices an opinion at every election, the leader would not feel the alarm that the dictator may fear.
The leaders of China fear a Paul Revere Wong riding to the next town saying, the Army is Coming, the Army is Coming. That is more democracy than the still oppressive leadership wants to see.
These days, not all the men of the king nor every horse of the king were enough for a very hard working people who receive very few days off and were as angry at the weather as their own government. But the leadership of China has become very nervous about unhappy citizen
While in chaotic democratic India, they have so many varieties of cows and religions and monkeys and peoples they are coming into their own, violent as ever about religion, but making progress in their lives daily.
Democracy is going to come, and some Thomas Jefferson Ming and Benjamin Franklin Lee and others are studying now and feeling their constraints. In India, they are already democratic, and this more free capitalism has them learning to speak English and take on the world. due, for the good of all.
The leaders of China, as in any oppressive regime, can handle occasional rebellions, but they fear a Jefferson or Lincoln making a speech about the rights of free people. Democracy, as well as rich capitalism goes hand in hand. These ways are coming, Comrades. Just you wait and see.
And if you were the Mighty Khan of one billion three hundred million angry hornets right now, would you not also be quaking in your Forbidden Palace. Apparently, he, and all the Court, are. I know I would be, if I was that oppressive still. So, we think that is a very good thing.

Choosing Your EVE Online Characters

If you are just getting started in EVE Online, you already know that there are four playable races and that you will have to select attributes. While there are several other components for creating a character in this very versatile MMORPG, you'll find that these two factors can keep you busy as well as let you figure out a great deal about your character. You'll find that while these factors will generally lead to a balanced and level field between people new to the game, it will affect how your game play goes at the outset, so keep a few things in mind.
The Amar are powerful fighters, and in many cases, they come in at the top when it comes to being able to withstand damage in a way that will outlast their opponents. This is apparent in the way that their ships are built, which is with heavy armor plating and with a real love of laser weapons. Ammarian ships often have a lot of long-range capability, but at the outset, they may be a little disappointing to characters who want to deal some serious damage right away.
The Caldari is an extremely ammunition-heavy race to start with, which makes sense as you will be starting off using primarily missiles. This makes the Calderi one of the top damage-dealing races, but the ships tend to be a little more frail than otherwise. Be aware that a Calderi ship, due to this high ability to deal damage but it's low ability to take damage can be a difficult thing for a solo player to start out with.
The Gallente race offers a great deal of diversity, and the option of using drones, which are small, unmanned fighters that can be deployed during combat. The alternative to drones, which although they are excellent damage dealers, are really made for supportive measures, is the use of turrets, which will allow a close range attack which is fairly deadly, but can be dangerous to you yourself.
Finally, the Minmatar ships have a great deal of firepower but not a lot of defensive ability. They are very fast and very maneuverable, and thus very hard to hit, but when they are, the damage can be very intense. It should also be noticed that the Minmatar ships are widely customizable and allow the player to try several styles of attack before committing.
The main thing to remember when it comes to selecting your attributes is that you should think about what skills you want to work with later. The rate at which you learn skills is highly dependent on what ranking you have in the attribute it is related to, so to ensure that you can spend less time learning the skills you are interested in, make sure that you take higher levels of the related attributes. You'll also find that Charisma is a less useful skill than the others, but this might change as the game develop
There are many things to keep in mind when you are designing your EVE Online characters, but this will get you started towards the game play experience that you are interested in.

The Ships Of EVE Online

If you have even a passing interest in massive multiplayer online games, one of the ones that you need to become familiar with is EVE Online. EVE Online is a terrific game with excellent gameplay, but one of the most attractive aspects of this game are the EVE Online ships. The EVE Online ships are extremely varied and while there is definitely a scale as to the desirability of any given vessel, their differences and advantages and disadvantages are part of what make this MMOG so very attractive.
The first thing that you will notice is that the size of these ships will range from enormous cruisers to frigates that are a fraction of that size. One of the attractive things about the EVE Online ships is that size is not necessarily an estimation of what the ship itself is worse. Smaller ships can be easily outfitted to compete with larger vessels in terms of power, and the added maneuverability of smaller ships, along with a greater difficulty when it comes to targeting them, can make them quite formidable indeed.
Each of the races of the game EVE Online have their own ships and their own specialties. The only ship that is common to all four playable races are the mining ships, due to their functionality and the ubiquitous need for them. EVEry type of ship will have race specific versions, but the ships are quite varied when it comes form and function.
The player begins with what is called a rookie ship, a beginner ship that is specific to their race. This very basic ship has a gun turret and a mining laser, and although it is about the size of the more advance frigates, it is fairly weak and less customizable than any of the basic frigates that can be purchased.
Frigates are usually considered the next step up, and they far outstrip the basic rookie ships when it comes to function. They are light and fast, but compared to bigger ships, are fairly fragile. There are many different types of frigate, each one specified for different sort of equipment. They are fairly cheap ships and in the right hands and with someone who knows how to use them to drain power from larger ships, can be quite dangerou
Destroyers are meant specifically for anti-frigate warfare and as such are equipped with a large number of slots for weapons. The effectiveness number of slots is reduced due to the fact that the guns that can fit into them are often too light to take on larger ships, making destroyers significantly less effective when it comes to cruisers and battleship
Cruisers are larger and slower than frigates and destropers, but they are very versatile and much more sturdy. They can contain heavier weaponry and can be customized for combat and battle, or mining and cargo transport..
These are the basic EVE Online ships that a new player will be encountering. You'll also find industrial barges (which cannot be accessed without a paid account) and battlecruisers and battleships, which are the heavy hitters when it comes to combat. Within each of these categories, you'll find plenty of variation, so see what suits your method of play best.

Oil Painting for Beginners

Once you have selected your canvas or panel and set your palette, you have only to pick up some color on your brush or knife and begin to paint. It's as simple as that. Of course, how you hold your brush or knife and the manner in which you apply paint to canvas can make a very great difference in the kind of picture you will paint. But there is no one approved way and artists tend to be even more individual in their painting habits than in their handwriting.
You will, of course, eventually find the way of working that suits you best. In the meantime, it is well to beware of one especially bad habit that painters sometimes fall into at the beginning and later find very hard to break staying too close to your painting as you execute it.
When you work too close, your eye tends to focus on a few square inches at a time, with the result that you may be tempted to overdevelop this limited area, and then the next such area, thus losing the bigness of conception and boldness of execution without which a painting is usually doomed to failure.
As a preliminary to painting a picture, it may be helpful to experiment with your brushes and knives to find out what kinds of lines, tones and textures you can produce with each one. Squeeze out four or five colors on your palette. Use the paint just as it comes from the tube for these exercises unless you find it unworkable, in which case you can add a minimum of medium.
You might choose White, Burnt Umber, Ultramarine, Cadmium Yellow and Alizarin Crimson for these experiments such an assortment will give you a wide range of hue and value, but any colors will do. The important thing here is not the way the colors combine,but the way you can use your tools to achieve particular tones and texture
Exercise 1 Lines - With each of your brushes, in turn, carry some single strokes across your canvas. Use paint generously. Don't be disturbed by the ridges of paint which may squeeze out along the edges of a stroke, or by the way the line breaks and lets some canvas show through as the brushful of paint becomes exhausted, giving the result known as "dry brush." These effects are characteristic of oil painting and often are created intentionally.
Do some lines with the flat sides of your brushes, others with the thinner edges. Try light paint, medium paint, dark paint. Tip the bristles at different angles to the canvas. Vary your pressure. Make wavy lines, broken lines, zigzag lines. Invent lines of your own. Ultimately, you will need them all. As you work with your brush, you may find that you will want to turn it over, or up on edge, every little while in order to use the paint which accumulates. That's all right, too.
Exercise 2 Broken Color - Now dip your brush into two or more colors at a time and draw a number of lines again. As you paint, these colors will automatically blend somewhat, yet each will remain visible in places. Accidental effects obtained this way can be telling at time
After you have experimented with elementary exercises like these, you will be well on your way to starting a real painting. Good luck!

I want to loose body fat (of course) but I also want to look great, to have muscular and attractive body. And I want it now, even better I want to have it yesterday! Sounds familiar...?
Majority of people are thinking in this way and it is understandable because it is in our nature to desire the best things for our self's. But how we can loose fat and build muscles in same time? Ignorance on this subject will slow you down or even it can stop your advancement. If you want best advice from me I would recommend jump on muscle building first. I have my own experience and in my everyday practice I can see many examples which confirm best results when you start with muscle building routines before fat loss. Here is the reason why.
The best way to burn fat is to lift your metabolism rate. Resistance training if done properly is probably one of the best things for doing that. Try and you will see that your metabolism rate increases after only week or two of going trough quality weight lifting program. So, you will build lean muscle on your body and start loosing that fat if you choose this approach. After three, four or maximum six months you will be packed with new muscle tissue and prepared to easily start burning remaining fat from your body. Also, you will be motivated and focused because of results already achieved and that will move you even faster.
Gym becomes kind of useful lab when you start spending time there and whole science of muscle building and fat loose is placed on test right there, in practice before regular people. Charts and graphs are easily displayed on an interactive whiteboard to make instruction and demonstration much simpler. It is even possible for pupils to display their own work this way. Given today's children's fascination for anything that looks like a TV screen, this is an excellent way of keeping them engaged.

Learn How To Incubate Hatching Eggs

Success in producing strong, healthy game fowl, for sale, begins with the development of healthy embryos. The incubation process for hatching eggs is of paramount importance in this development. It can mean the difference between excellent hatching results and poor hatching results. Poor hatching results cost you time and money.
If you plan to raise game fowl or bantam chickens, you want to incubate properly. This will ensure a hatching with few ruined eggs. The more healthy embryos you have the more hatched game fowl you have to sell as pets or show animal
What should you do to ensure proper incubation of hatching eggs? The following steps will aid your incubation process. If applied, they will help you produce the greatest amount of chickens for sale. When gathering eggs for incubation, do it on a daily basis. Perform this three times a day. If the outside temperature is greater than 85F then gather the eggs five times a day.
Choose only quality eggs from healthy breeders. Choose varied eggs not related to one another such as siblings and such. Do not choose eggs that are too large or too small. Small eggs result in small chicks too large eggs do not hatch properly. Discard cracked or otherwise damaged eggs from the incubation pool. Also, remove eggs with very thin shells.
Choose clean eggs. Do not wipe eggs or rub them as the protective coating rubs off along with any grime. In addition, germs can enter through the egg pores into the egg with rubbing. Cool eggs should warm gradually before placement in an incubator. Warming to room temperature is advisable. Too much condensation develops on the egg with a quick temperature rise. This could lead to disease.
When incubating you can choose a 'Still Air' or a 'Forced Air' incubator. The still air incubator is smaller and has no fan to circulate air. The forced air incubator uses a fan system. A still air incubator has an entry base for fresh air. This cool air enters after the warm air rises and escapes out of the incubator.
The forced air incubator relies on the fan for cool air. The still air incubator needs a temperature of 102F. The forced air type needs a temperature of 100F. Both types need consistency of temperature, higher or lower fluctuations are not desirable.
Fluctuations of temperature result in ruined eggs. Constantly monitor temperature, and oxygen flow. Make sure oxygen flow does not disrupt temperature stability. Monitor and control the humidity in the incubator. Humidity that is too high or too low affects shell and subsequently embryo development. The amount of successful hatches is in direct correlation to proper humidity level
Eggs in a still air incubator need turning, gently, four to six times a day. Eggs in a forced air incubator are subject to automatic turning by mechanism. There are also semi-automatic models where you turn a lever several times a day. The eggs turn in the tray but you do not touch the eggs with your hand
Do not skip days (for example weekends) eggs require consistent turning. If turning manually, you can mark the eggs with a pencil. Mark with an X on one side and an O on the other. This will allow for same amounts of turns per side. Have the incubating eggs in the proper normal position, with the large end a little higher than the pointed end. You do not want the embryo in the wrong position with the head towards the narrower end.
Proper incubation of hatching eggs will result in healthy chickens for sale. Remember that proper sanitation, temperature, ventilation, humidity, and turning are vital to game fowl hatching success.

No one likes the prospect of having to explore dark and damp space. When they are small and cramped it might even be a little scarier. If you notice a drop in your water pressure and can not find a leak inside the home, you may want to look in your crawlspace.
If any amount of water is leaking or spraying and coming into contact with wood, there is the possibility of water damage and it might happen more quickly and with less water than a person might think. Under the building is also where your outside water faucets and the beginning of your sewer pipes are situated. The faucets may not make much of a hazard, but a bad sewer line coming out of your home certainly can be. It could create an unsanitary and extremely nauseating problem quickly!
Any leaking under your dwelling place must be repaired as rapidly as it can. You could not believe it is really harming anything if there is water in there, but it may be devastating a lot more than you think.

It's just not easy to juggle the demands of any career and a personal life. Many might think it should be easier if you have a home business. It can be the opposite because your office is always near and on going ideas are always on your mind.
First, you have to have a plan and only you can develop a correct one. Examine your priorities and set boundaries. Be firm in what you can and cannot do. Only you can restore harmony to your lifestyle.
You need to have prompt opening and closing hours for your office, and stay with those times so others expect that from you. You also must communicate clearly so there is no question in regards to pricing, a day off, what your client expects or you expect. This will take the pressure off of your shoulders when all understands it.
Get enough sleep because there's nothing as stressful and potentially dangerous as working when you're sleep-deprived. Not only is your productivity affected, but you can also make costly mistake
We all need someone who we trust and can talk with during times of stress. If you are plagued with pressure, guilt and worries that's the best time to bolster yourself with a trusted friend and a lunch. You can get a different point of view, and it feels great to unload some of the heavy burden you have been carrying around.

A Brief History Of Perfume Bottles And Fragrances

The very word perfume creates a whiff of fragrance in the surroundings. It fills and mesmerizes the senses with a wonderful sensation and feeling. Perfumes have always attracted mankind and how a bottle of perfume is created is a mystery even in this era and age! The art of perfume making is a secret and the selected perfumes are created by specialists who never divulge the ingredients of it. This makes each bottle of perfume unique.
The perfume making art was introduced in Egypt and Mesopotamia somewhere in the 2nd millennium BC. Originally perfume was made from spices like almonds, coriander and bergamot along with various other herbs. Flowers were not used in those days.
A Persian doctor and chemist discovered that perfume could be made from flowers too. He started making perfume with roses and rose water was a big favorite immediately. Once introduced, rose water was being used extensively and is still used.
With the advancement in the perfume making industry and mass production and consumption, there has been a sea change in the entire procedure of perfume making. It has now become a mechanical job no doubt but still needs expertise.
Commercial manufacturers keep their secrets of making perfume close to their hearts and don`t like to divulge it. However it is open secret that perfume is derived from plants, animals and other natural ways. Among the plants resins, seeds, leaves, fruits, and flowers are used. In the animals` category civet, musk and honey comb may be used. In the modern era genetically induced plants are also being used to make perfumes by the perfume manufacturers.
The manufacturers now days use many synthetic sources like chemicals prepared in labs to make perfume and these perfumes are quite a hit among the users.
Although the basic method of producing perfume is the same for all perfumes various manufacturers adopt slightly different style of manufacturing it according their individual style and choice.
Before you start making perfume you need to understand the composition of the perfume oil. They have been classified into four categories according to the role played by them. These scents are found in the different notes like the top, base or the middle according to the supporting ingredient
They are the following fixatives, modifiers, blenders and primary scent
The fragrance oil has to be mixed with ethyl alcohol and water in special containers for a minimum of two weeks and all sediments are to be filtered off carefully. Nowadays the usual style is to use the base for it because of the obvious reasons instead of extracting perfumes from the `ground ups`.
There are quite a few types of oils mixed in a perfume. Once the final product is ready it is very difficult to know about its separate compositions. It is very difficult to break up the perfume and find its ingredients. However the nature of the perfume can be understood by the experts by using reverse technology. But this is also useful only if the perfume is not too much complicated in formation. A lot depends on the equipment that is put into use. Competitors and discerning consumers use it to reveal the formula used in the making of the perfume.
Continuous research is always being carried on in the perfume industry and experts keep experimenting and devising new ways of making perfume. Efforts are made to make each bottle unique, each perfume unique and the secrecy that is maintained by all concerned is amazing.

you were so thrilled, you just said "When?"
We went out on our first date two days later,
for the record, it was dinner at The Offshore,
then we took a romantic stroll, hand in hand,
and I knew my life had changed (for evermore).
After two weeks of dating,
I asked when would all the sweetness end,
and you said, "Never, why does it have to?",
We both knew then, we'd found a lifelong friend.
It was obvious to our friends and family too,
and I had waited for you to say "I love you" for so long,
so happily, I moved in just a few months later,
and ever since, we've never put one foot wrong.
When we first met I found you disliked cats,
and now Ziggy "your son" gets more kisses than me,
but let me tell you, Wiggy, you're wonderful,
and you've made Wigster's World a great place to be.
Wearing two crowns can be sometimes tiring,
so together, we play, we laugh, love, walk and pray,
hand in hand, we do everything as a couple,
as we did on August 2nd, our "Beautiful" wedding day.
I now know what a husband's love is truly worth,
and we know that there's no "I" in team,
I know you took your time in arriving,
but you were worth waiting for, my dream.
Our relationship is the best I've ever had,
you truly are my soul-mate and the love of my life,
I just wanted to say, "I'm proud of you",
and very proud to be known as your wife.
Now there's Wiggy, Wigster, Ziggy and Pinky,
the newest member to the Italiano clan,
Pinky, is Daddy's favorite baby girl,
but don't worry, you're still my favorite man.

How To Play Chuck-Luck

There are various games of chance played with dice. Only one or two of these are still played in gambling houses - Craps being the big dice game these days. But you might want to play this game with the fellows, or it may come back to the gambling halls.
CHUCK-LUCK
Chuck-Luck or Bird Cage used to be a favorite in the old western gambling halls. And it rated tops in the modern casinos until Craps came into being. However, it's still played occasionally in the bigger house
Chuck-Luck is a simple game. Three one-inch dice are tumbled over and over in a cage until they come to rest face up. Before each turn of the cage, bets are placed on a layout divided into 6 squares and numbered 1 through 6. The house pays various odds on bets corresponding to those shown on the dice.
An example, if a dollar is bet on each of six numbers (and the dice come up 1, 4 and 6), the house pays out three dollars to the winners and collects three dollars from those betting on 2, 3 and 5. But the house couldn't make any money if the betting stayed to this level. So it doesn't.
On doubles and triples, the house pays double and triple. A tempting bet for the customer. But the odds are 216 to 199 in favor of the house, or about 7.9%.
PRINCIPAL BETS IN CHUCK-LUCK
On triples, a bet that the throw will be any triple, such 3-3-3 or 5-5-5, the house pays 30 to 1. But the actual odds are 35 to 1. You can also "call your triple" and if it comes up, the house pays 180 to 1. Great odds? Not when you consider the correct odds or chances of making it. They are 215 to 1.
For a particular total, from 4 to 17, the house pays less than the correct odds. The house advantage in each case ranges from 10% to 20%.
The house pays even money on High (total 11 to 17), Low (total 4 to 10), Odd and Even numbers. But the house wins whenever a triple shows in the High and Low Bets.
If you want to set up a "friendly game" at home you can buy all the equipment. A cage, highly polished, runs around $100. A cloth layout, about $15. And a set of three dice, about $10.
To make the game "unfriendly" the rest of the equipment can be had for a price. A magnet to hook up under the cage, plus batteries, wires and operator's switch cost between $75 and $100. And three magnetic dice, about $50. Rather expensive (but if you're that kind of a guy), the equipment pays for itself. For instance, 15 loses if 5-5-5 comes up, and 9 loses if 3-3-3 comes up. Still, these bets are the best for the player. The correct odds are only 111 to 105 against him.

Babies First Solids - Baby Cereal Is A Good Start

Pediatricians recommend that babies should be started on some kind of solid food between the ages of four to six months based in individual development. Factors like a stable neck among others are used to decide whether a baby is ready to start eating or not. The reason why solids are introduced at this stage is because solid food allows for more calories to be inputted into the childs system which is what is required at this stage. It is also important that your baby learn the act of swallowing.
These solid as they are called are not tough pieces of bread or chunks of chicken that your baby is expected to bite. The first meal that you offer your baby should ideally be a cereal mixed in breast milk or formula milk. Even though cereal manufacturers mention that you can mix the cereal in water, the use of milk helps in providing a familiar taste to the baby reducing the chances of it being rejected.
To start with, you should choose to a rice cereal for your child. This is the preferred option since rice has almost a zero chance of being an allergen and is easily digested. Another cereal that is not likely to be an allergen is oatmeal. Once you have tried these with your baby, you can move on to other combinations like oatmeal and banana or rice and apple or oatmeal and mixed vegetables. There are options of exotic flavors like black currant to provide variety and excitement and amusement for the fledgling palette of your child.
Make sure that when you start making a cereal meal for you baby, you should ensure that the consistency is thin and almost fluid. You can gradually increase the cereal content and reduce the liquid added to obtain a thicker consistency as and when your baby shows signs of comfort with the food. Ensure that what you make is even and pasty and does not have lumps so that it is easy fro the baby to swallow.
Once your baby has taken to cereal and shown no allergies, you can start to introduce other foods. Keep in mind that your baby still does not have any teeth and it is a good idea to run anything that you want to feed your baby through a baby blending or mashing machine. A favorite fruit is banana that can easily be mashed, the slippery consistency of which is thoroughly enjoyed by babies. Make sure that you introduce a single new food at a time, giving about 2 weeks for each new addition to settle down before classifying it as an acceptable option.
Obviously, once the baby cuts teeth and has a nice set of pearly white milk teeth, you can through out the remaining packs of baby cereal and baby food and start offering real solid food to your child
