4 Great Ways to Improve Your Lawn's Subsoil
In order to have the perfect lawn, you need to do more than simply water and fertilize the grass. But the truth is, nearly all of the award winning "show lawns" have well prepared subsoil. Without a healthy subsoil, the grass will not stay healthy for as long as it could. And do you want to know a secret? It's pretty darn easy to do! You'll of course want to do this on a new lot before the grass has grown in, or else remove the sod and start over (and depending on your lawns current condition, this may not be a big deal).
If sawdust is used, add a cupful of sulfate of ammonia to each bushel. This is necessary because soil bacteria use up large amounts of nitrogen as they break down the sawdust. If extra nitrogen is not supplied, the bacteria may cause a nitrogen deficiency in the soil.
The best lawn I ever made was based on 3 inches of sawdust (supplemented with sulfate of ammonia), worked into the subsoil six inches deep. Two inches of topsoil over this base gave me a perfect lawn soil for establishing a thick, heavy sod that for four years has never had one drop of artificial irrigation.
Another way to improve the subsoil (but this adds no plant food) is to incorporate sifted cinders that have been allowed to weather over winter before use. These should be sifted through 3/8-inch mesh to get rid of any large lumps. On a heavy clay subsoil, working in a 3-inch layer of sifted cinders will make a remarkable difference in drainage. Be sure they are really worked in and thoroughly mixed with the soil.
In areas where soils are strongly or even moderately acid, lime-stone screenings -- the fine chips used as a top dressing on driveways -- make an excellent subsoil amendment. They can be used on both the subsoil and on the surface. Lime does not make the soil too alkaline until there are fewer than eight clay particles to one of lime.
A word of caution about the use of sand as a soil amendment Sand is often recommended by garden writers, most of whom probably live where loam soils are prevalent and clay is not a problem ("Loam" is soil composed of sand, silt, and clay in an even concentration, about 40-40-20% concentration respectively). The difficulty is that enough sand to turn heavy clay into a fine, mellow soil would cost a fortune for a sizable lawn. At least one-third as much sand as clay must be in the finished mixture, otherwise the effect of the sand is to act like the aggregate in concrete, with the clay particles acting as the cement. If too little sand is used, the soil will be harder than before.
The cost of sand can be high. In most big cities, washed sand, the only kind available, runs about $5.00 a yard delivered. A heavy clay area, 20 by 50 feet, for example, would require 10 yards of sand.
As you can see, these few methods will prepare your subsoil for a lifetime of great green grass. Now all you have to do is the regular fertilizing and other annual care! You're well on your way to having the best looking lawn on the block.

Summer Sponges: Minds of Children Soak Up Knowledge
The time is upon us parents, teachers and care givers. We have the charming challenge of keeping the troops happy. Most of us know that there is a probable decline in cognitive development in our children during the summers if in traditional school settings. In fact, the latest report from a professor of Duke University states that most children lose approximately one month worth of learning over the summer time - many losing math and reading skills.
What is a parent to do? Our vision of a perfect summer for our kids involves hopes of making great family memories with those all-family vacations, relaxation combined with rejuvenation for both children and parents not to mention the fending off of the ever-famous daily statements of boredom and inability to find one thing to do.
What is a child to do? Their vision of a perfect summer for themselves involves hopes of sleeping in, having fun and only fun not to mention the fending off of any learning-related task, activity, book or program.
I play both sides of the fence when it comes to summer. Having spent more than ten years in the classroom I truly relished the countdown to summer. I loved my students, but I loved my summers free just as equally. Having been a mother for more than seventeen years I truly relish the countdown to the end of summer! I love my children, but I love the regular routine and schedule that the school year provides our family.
The following tidbits come from both sides of the fence and combine to create some sizzling moments for those little sponge-like brains to soak up the knowledge and keep their brains active during the dog days of summer.
*Read! Read! Read! Oh I know! You are busy - you do not even have time to read the business section of the newspaper each morning much less plunk down on the floor with Junior for 5 and read a cool book to him that has been sitting in his room since the Holidays - unread! Come on! You are the best teacher for your child. You are the best role model for your child. You know your child loves, loves, loves the time you spend focusing on just him! And for the older children (elementary school age) - they are probably into chapter books, and the selections these days are terrific! I have never been so into the reading selections of my child as I have been this past year. And then there are the teens! Find books about what they love right now. (For us that is billiards, basketball and World Series of Poker.) Your local library can provide you with a multitude of books from which to choose for all ages of children.
*Problem Solvers of America stand up and be recognized! Yes! Your children need your creative genius to kick in and keep the math mind active during the summer months. You can do this. At restaurants use the menu as a math mini lesson, ask them to estimate what the total bill would be, have them calculate the tip based on 15% and then 20%, check your time of placing the order and have the kids time the food preparation. You get my drift! Use your car time for math problems - mental math is something our generation of children is losing thanks to cell phone calculators, math/science calculators and more. Once you are back in the house use your cooking time for fractions, measurements and time lessons (SSSSHHH! Do not mention the word lesson please!) If you give out allowance get the kids involved in totaling the value of their contributions around the home and their designations for the money.
*Mindless Couch Potatoes Beware! You are the parent! You need to limit the TV time, the computer time, the Nintendo DS, Game Cube, Game Boy, Game Player, Game Watcher, Game Gobble-Your-Child-Mind-Machine now, today, ahora, pronto! It is so hard. I am no saint, no poster mom for this one, but I do know how important it is. We all read the studies, and we hear the reports on the negative effects of multi-media entertainment on children (whether attributed to the violent nature, the amount of time involved, the over stimulation, the constant barrage of media hype). We all know it is in the best interest of our children to monitor what is going into their brains via these devices. So try to get your children balanced in their outdoor time, reading time, quiet/down time, family time and life in general.
Make the summers work for you and, more importantly, for your child!
Turn your vacations into a classroom without the kids knowing it by sneaking in the local museum or park or zoo for a few hours. Use that portable DVD player for some edutaining DVDs (local libraries are great places for rentals). Travel to a spot none of you have been and so some great research together incorporating map skills, science skills for the weather/climate of the destination and language skills by learning new languages specific to that area.

Trader's Daily Routine Checklist
Most traders go day to day trading on the fly, take a position when it feels right, especially in the heat of the moment when prices are just moving without them. Not preparing for what lies ahead for the day, week or month can be a costly endeavor. Many don't come with a plan, much less a checklist to prepare for the day. Many professionals are preparing two to three hours even before the market opens. It only shows how serious they value their work and money.
No trading is complete without a routine to make good trading habits in preparation for the trades. No good trading results come from lack of preparation. Once a routine is carried out consistently, trading success will come consistently. A basic checklist below will get a new trader started. Modifications can be made accordingly to fit the trader's preferences (use of fundamental or technical analysis), trading style (day, swing, position) and markets (single or multiple markets).
Before market opens
1. Check the day's economic calendar for any scheduled reports and announcements for the day-- This part covers the fundamental analysis. He will be checking the expected numbers against reports that will be publish during the day, recalculating the numbers to find value. (This is typically for the trader whose major strategy is based on fundamentals).
2. Draw up analysis for changes in the fundamental news & reports (interest rate changes, jobless numbers, specific company earnings etc.) to reflect to current market conditions.
3. Check the chart for overnight price action - this is mainly for a trader who trades using technical analysis. Normally he will check to see if the prices have violated any support/resistance area or any numbers that he considers important enough to confirm or reject the current direction or market conditions.
In forex, the most popular indicators and tools used are
a. Fibonacci numbers
b. Floor pivots (daily, weekly, monthly)
c. Support/Resistance areas (daily, week, month)
d. High/Low/Open/Close
e. MACD, RSI, Momentum, Volume, or other indicator
4. Write a trading plan - This step provides the trader to write out his plan for the day, how many trades, how much to risk or make, where he'll be taking the position and where he'll exit, and how large the position size he's going to take.
During market hours
1. During market hours, the trader has a few options at hand
a. Set alarms to notify crucial levels to trade to change positions that need to be made. (This is for swing and daytraders)
b. Watch news channels (optional) such as CNBC or Bloomberg to make sure there are no sudden economic or political news around the world that may impact market movements such resignation of a president, or terrorist attack on oil field, etc. (This is for daytraders).
c. Monitor the charts and indicators continuously, trendlines, pivots, and redrawing Fibonacci levels. (This is for daytraders).
d. Take positions as dictated in the trading plan. If the setup had appeared during the trading session that was written in the trading plan, execute it accordingly.
After market hours
Trader's Daily Routine Checklist Who Have Signal-Service or Newsletter Subscriptions
1. Check/read newsletters from paid/unpaid subscriptions from signal service, news, analysis, etc. and compare them to trading plan. Analyze them accordingly to be sure these fit into the trading plan.
2. Strategy portfolio management and maintenance-recalculating and verify if the balances are correct and if any instrument has gone outside the percentage of the portfolio. If for example an instrument that was made 30% in gains, these gains must be settled either by reducing the holdings or hedge with another instrument to ensure the gains made or reduce exposure of the originally instrument.
3. Write/Revise the trading plan for the next day, which pairs to buy/sell, how many or how much, and tactically at what price to buy/sell and exit.
It's not mainly about checking everything and read all the information out there before the market opens. It's about be satisfied with the retaining content that works for the trading system. But most important, creating a routine that becomes the foundation in building success in investing or trading.

Plan a Cardio Workout That Will Really Melt the Pounds
Are you looking for a cardio workout that you can enjoy? Finding a workout that will keep you entertained is just a matter of knowing yourself. What do you like to do? Dance, swim or kick boxing? If you want a challenging workout that will get your heart pumping here are a few activities to get you started in the right direction
Swimming Swimming is just about the best all-around exercise that you can do. Swim about 45 minutes, three times a week and you will see your body becoming toned and fit - and after only a few weeks. Swimming at a fast pace will work your muscles twice as much as running. As with any new exercise, start slow and for shorter periods of time. Then, work your way up to swimming faster and for longer period
You might also try water aerobics. Do the same exercises that you do in the gym leg lifts, squats, lunges. When these exercises are done under water, the water provides a resistance so that your muscles are required to work harder than if you were doing them out of the water. Exercising in water is also better for your joints, especially if you are older. People with arthritis or other joint disorders seem to tolerate water exercises better than gym exercise
Belly Dancing Belly dancing is especially good for the waistline, hips and thighs. Once you get going, the cardio benefits are enormous. Belly dancing has become so popular in the United States that most gyms have at least one clas
Yoga Ashtanga yoga is a form of yoga that takes the most effort. It uses the regular yoga poses but it is also good for aerobic workouts. You should use a certified yoga instructor since he or she is trained to show you the correct poses that will boost your heart rate and burn calories. You can also buy videos online that will show you the poses and how to do them.
Walking. Not just walking, but "power" walking. Power walking requires more effort than plain walking. You swing your arms while walking very quickly. You can power walk outside around your neighborhood or go to the gym and walk on a treadmill. If you are just starting and you are out of shape, start with a plain walking routine until your body adjusts to the exercise. Then, start swinging your arms while walking slowly. When that feels comfortable, go on to a fast walk and match your arm swings to your walking stride.
If you power walk at the gym, have a trained instructor give you the best workout for your strength and stamina. When you are power walking at a fast pace easily on a flat treadmill, start increasing the incline level. That will really give you a workout!
Doing an exercise activity that you enjoy will encourage you to keep with it. And that is what you need to get yourself fit and to lose weight.

Can You Make Your Fortune In A Work At Home Business?
Have you ever heard of a person that has gone from rags to riches with a Work at Home Home Based Business, well that is me! The stuff you read about or hear about, actually happens.
Is it true that you can make millions in a Work at Home Based Business? Well, alot of it depends on the business model and the industry it is involved in. But yes, you can make millions, and many do, and are becoming millionaires as we speak. It's not just a fairy tale or a bunch of fluff!
People ask me from time to time if the business I have introduced to them is some kind of a "get rich quick scheme." I mean, this business offers a very lucrative compensation plan which will result in a high level of income in a short period of time. So it must be a get rich quick thing, right?
Well, my answer to that statement is that you had sure better hope this is a get rich quick scheme! Most people in this world will make millions in their lifetime, it's just that it takes them 50-60 years to do it. I am in the business of becoming and creating millioniares in a much shorter time period. Which plan would you rather be part of? Do you want to be involved in the 50 year plan or the 3-5 year plan?
I am an independent website owner promoting various digital and wholesale products for multiple companies thru affiliation. This is a business model that can easily be duplicated and worked part time from the comfort of your own home.
Affiliation is a multi-billion dollar industry and continues to grow each and every year. It is considered to be one of the most rapidly growing industries in the world. Up until now, the big names in affiliate marketing have been the recipients of all those billions. Now, through this business, the average person with extraordinary ambition can make millions and assist others to do the same. There have been more self-made millionaires created in affiliate marketing than in any other single industry. There will be over one million millionaires created over the next 10-15 years. Ask yourself... will you be one of them? Will you be the one who will make millions and enjoy your life or will you watch someone else do it instead? Commit yourself to that goal and settle for nothing les
There is so much abundance in this world. Many people view the world as they see themselves and not how the world really is. The world is full of riches and opportunity that is just waiting to be claimed!

Couch Potatoes Can't Compete!
Do you find yourself on the couch watching television shows, cable TV, sporting events, or a DVD Movie almost every night of the week? The bad news is a lot of people are couch potatoes. Many people spend to much time watching movies or sporting events on their television every night when they could be doing other things to CREATE A BETTER LIFESTYLE.
According to a federal survey, couch potatoes do not get enough exercise. It is important to get some type of aerobic exercise such as walking, biking or jogging. Moderate exercise is usually enough for overall health. Consistent exercise increases red blood cell counts, helps control weight, strengthens bones and muscles and increases lipoproteins or good cholesterol in your body. Exercise can increase your effectiveness in everything you do. Taking a long walk can help relieve the stress of a busy day. Exercise each day and begin to feel better with a healthier body.
Just about anyone with children knows that the easiest way to entertain kids these days is through a TV set. Technology has produced video games and kids enjoy playing these games. Unfortunately, the kids playing these games do not get the proper exercise they need. There is an increase of obesity in children and not getting enough exercise can contribute to this. Get your kids outside away from the TV set and let them play games, shoot baskets, ride bikes or take them on a walk to the park with you.
If you find yourself clinging to a couch potato lifestyle, you can change your habits and increase your productivity and do the things you want to in life. Don't turn on the television. Instead, try educating yourself by reading and researching new ideas, projects, interests or a money making idea. Increasing your productivity and your knowledge will make you feel better about yourself.
You can create a better life for both yourself and others by giving up the couch potato lifestyle. You may want to start up your own home business or start working on the new invention you have thought about for years. Get your kids involved with their own projects or interests instead of playing the video games all the time. Get them to go out and get some exercise. Get your kids to start thinking on their own. Let them have ideas. Maybe some day they will be the ones programming, designing or building these games they are playing. Maybe some day you will have that profitable home based business or new invention that you have dreamed of having.
Get off the couch and stop being a couch potato. Start creating a better life for yourself today!

Special Interview With Bob Proctor From 'The Secret'
The much talked about movie 'The Secret', has caught the world by storm. Bob Proctor, one of the 'secret' teachers reveals in an exclusive interview on how to take the Law of Attraction to the next level. 'The Secret' and the teachings of the Law of Attraction have swept up an entire world. Although the Law of Attraction has been around for a long time, but it wasn't until the release of 'The Secret' that it rushed into the consciousness of this entire world. The producer Rhonda Bryne was inspired by the book 'The Science of Getting Rich' written back in the 1910
Bob Proctor, one of the 'secret' teachers in 'The Secret', has been teaching the Law of Attraction in seminars for the past 30 years. So, if anybody really understands this Law and is able to help people to understand it and use it, it's Bob Proctor. In an interview, Bob Proctor tells us more about the Law of Attraction and how it actually work
To help some people who feel so overwhelmed with all the negative that's going on in their life or their environment or their circumstances that they find it very difficult to be focused so that they can have the Law of Attraction work in a positive way, Bob Proctor, in the interview, gives us one tip to help people to control their focus "...when you focus, you move into a higher vibration, the attraction is accelerated, and everything starts to flow...". He also explains the real difference between the high income earners and the masses that just watch other people accumulate wealth.
The book 'Think And Grow Rich' has impacted many people's life. Similarly, Bob's life has been transformed by this book. He lets on in the interview that he is coming up with a brand new program which will impact people's life in the same way, if not greater than 'Think And Grow Rich'. The new program is taking the Law of Attraction to another level and one of the teachings in the program is the three ways of earning income - M1, M2 and M3, which is the best and which is the worst. And which is the one that we learnt from school and which is the one we should be teaching our children.
Thus just to be aware of this universal law, the Law of Attraction is the first step to attracting wealth and health.

Your And Your Shoes
The most common tip you'll probably get in buying shoes is Buy them in the afternoons when your feet are the fattest.Well, that adage is quite true in many ways. So you religiously set your mind to this simple rule-of-thumb yet you still often find yourself feeling discomfort.
Shoe discomfort is caused by any of the following buying the wrong size, choosing the wrong quality and not knowing your own gait.
Is that new shoe you bought too short or too long? Easy. Just throw it away or return it to the store and get a new pair your size! If you're unsure about your size, ask help from any salesperson and have them measure your feet first before you try anything on.
Buying good quality shoes can be a bit tricky. You may even have to virtually examine each pair under a magnifying glass. In doing so, always take note of the following the seam on the heels should be straight heels should be firm and give full support and if there's anything that bends in the shoe that should only be the toe box.
Finally, the third factor to consider is your gait. Since you seldom walk without your shoes on, always take into account your manner of walking. How to tell how you walk? Again, just examine your shoes. If they tend to have an unusually disproportionate wearing and tearing on the internal sides, then you're an over-pronator. You're someone who rolls in too much that you create so much movement to your foot and lower leg. If this is you, then choose a style that, more or less, uses flat or slightly curved lasts. Tell the salesperson that what you need are shoes that limit pronation or the inward rolling of the foot after initial ground contact in order to disperse shock.
On the other hand, if there's excessive wear in the whole outer edge of the shoes and its sides seem to be too stretched, then you're an under-pronator. You're the type who puts a lot of pressure on your foot. If this is your case, make sure you're buying shoes with curved lasts. Simply tell the salesperson you want shoes that allow pronation. However if you can't decide which of the two you are, have a specialist examine your gait. Specialists can be found in stores that provide shoes for serious runners and walkers.

Players On A Baseball Team
The MLB roster has forty active members. When spring training is completed, only 25 players will remain on the active roster. Minor league affiliates tend to reassign the remaining 15 player
When the month of September rolls around, the active roster will consist of forty players. This is where the players have the chance to play at a major league level. The term of "having a cup of coffee", comes when a player shows up in September and plays one or two game and never shows back up. If you recall Moonlight Graham did just that. He is known for the Field of Dreams. In the New York Giants game , he appeared in that game and ended up with no at bat
Line-Up
Before each game the manager gives the umpire a line up with the names of the players that will fill every position. This includes the batting order of the players also.
Nine players are on the line up.
Pitcher
Catcher
Four Infielders - This consists of a (first , second , third baseman and shortstop)
Three Outfielders - this consists of (left, right, and center fielders)
The pitcher don't bat in the American League , so this gives a tenth player. He is known as the designated hitter.
The remainder varies by team. This consists of four starting pitchers, relief pitchers consists of five to seven backup catchers can range between one and two back up infielders consists of two and two back up outfielders is needed . This completes the twenty five player
Substitution
If for any reason a placer has to be replaced in the field or hitting order , this ends the game for them. They can't return and play in this game. A pinch hitter is brought in just to bat for another player in this situation. Utility infielders are players whose job is to substitute. Then you have utility outfielders that substitute. Relief pitchers are pitchers that come into the game after the starting pitcher. The closer is also a relief pitcher but only comes into the game during the ninth inning. Closing down the opposing team is his job.
Disabled
If a player on the twenty five roster becomes injured and permanently placed on the disabled list , that player can't return to help his team for a period of fifteen days. This allows time for healing. The more seriously injured is placed on a sixty day disabled list.
When a team don't want to lose a good player for fifteen days they allow this player to be put on a day to day list. If the injury seems to take longer to heal then the start day will be retroactive.
Rule Five Draft
If a player is on the 40 roster and has at least three years of service as of November 20th he can be drafted by other teams . This is for a fee of $50,000. This prevents stockpiling of prospects by teams. Under Draft five the player must make an appearance on the twenty five player roster for the next playing season. If that player can remain on the twenty five roster he can be drafted back by his original team for a fee of $25,000.
Baseball players make plenty of money , but they also pay out great amounts.

Need To Remodel! What About My Children?
Let your children help carry the hammer or nail
Maybe dad needs help while he is sawing a board. Let one of the children hold the furthest end of the board for his dad.
Don't be afraid to involve your children. Children learn from their parents .
Letting your children see how a remodeling job is done will help them acknowledge what working is about.
Show your children the safe and proper way to carry out a job. This will prevent unnecessary injuries to them.
If there is any sanding to be done , involve your children.
Don't expect them perform perfect work for you.
Give them praise for their effort
Remodeling can become a family plan. The more time you let your children help you the less likely they are to get into unwanted trouble. When you involve your children , they will become more eager to help out the next time. You will have developed a connection with them.
Many remodeling jobs at home can be hazardous. Children need guidance in helping out with the lower key jobs. If your remodeling involves moving furniture and small objects such as pictures or chairs , involve your children. They can help clear the way for you to begin.
Who don't drop a nail when hammering ? Let your children pick up off the floor for you. They can do this for you to prevent having to come off the ladder several times .
When painting ,use drop clothes on the floor. Children can spread this out for you. Let them carry the paint brush to the cleaning area for you when finished.
There are so many ways children can help out in remodeling. A family that can work together is sure to stay together. No Child should ever be turned down when they are making an effort to help out. Bring your children up to help you. When you (the parents) get older and can't do the remodeling , you can always call on your children.
Be proud of the little jobs your children do. The next generation may be the ones remodeling your house for you. No job is never to small that you couldn't use a little helping hand. Those little hands could be your children or grand children. Show them how to carry on your remodeling jobs for the future. Those little hands can make remodeling more enjoyable when you stop and think of all the love they put into helping you.

Folk Remedies For Leather Shoes
For centuries, people have found leather shoes to be very reliable to wear. And just like today, it has always been a challenge to take care of leather shoes as it was hundreds of years ago. With no wax and liquid shoe polish in the market yet, people found a way to solve leather problems. They came up with folk remedies in cleaning leather shoes. Here are some of the remedies that would never become obsolete for you to use.
Olive and walnut oil. They are very good on soft leather. All you have to do is apply a small amount of it onto the surface of the shoe with the use of a cloth. Then buff it with a cloth made of cotton.
Lemon juice. You must have heard that lemon juice is good at removing stains. In shoes, it is very good to take away dirt smudges. All you need is to mix the juice with cream of tartar. Then apply the mixture to the smudge using a cloth. Leave it for an hour or two. Wipe it clean and shine it.
The inside of banana peels. This works for leather shoes. Just simply rub the inside of the peel to the shoe. Then using water and cloth clean it dry.
Vinegar solution. This will remedy the road salt that wears out shoes. Just mix water and vinegar. Immerse cloth into the mixture and rub it to the shoes to take away the salt. This process might have to be done several times until the surface is clean. Then wash the shoes with water when done.
Toothpaste. Simply apply a pat of toothpaste over a cloth or toothbrush. Then rub it to the stains in the shoes. Rinse off with water.
Petroleum jelly. Not only is it reported to be an effective leather cleaner but also a good leather protector. To use the jelly, simply apply it with a clean, soft cloth. Make sure the cloth is free from lint though. Then, rub it in a circular motion over the shoe. Leave it for a few minutes. Then finally, take off the jelly by using a cloth.
Certain gel for hair conditioning is also effective to clean leather. First, take off dust and dirt using a brush or moist cloth. Dab some gel on the shoe surface and use a cloth to shine it. Remember not to apply too much gel. A small amount of it is enough.

What You Should Know When Shopping For Swivel Bar Stools
Swivel bar stools are not only convenient and functional, but they can be stylish additions to any home. When decorating your house with stools, you'll want to consider your home decor and choose a set that matches your overall theme. Swivel bar stools can be purchased in wrought iron, wood, steel and many other materials. You can also find them with or without upholstery as well as other embellishment
When you consider bar stools for your home, think of them as decorative pieces as well as something fun. Children and adults alike really appreciate the special features in swivel stools that give them their "fun" and functional characteristics. Not only can you spin around to take in the whole room, make it easy to talk to anyone, many stools are also easily adjustable, for convenience and comfort.
If you're looking for counter or bar stools to match the breakfast bar in your kitchen or a pub table or bar in your den or game room then swivel bar stools are well worth considering. One of the many benefits you will get from these is that you don't need to drag them around every time you want to change positions of the stool. Since they can rotate around 360 degrees, it's easy to position them to a comfortable setting, and swivel barstools are perfect for socializing.
When selecting bar stools, you should keep a few things in mind. First off, you want to know which height you need for your particular counter or table. Bar stools come in seat heights ranging from 17" to 31" and you must select a stool where the seat will be comfortable in relation to the counter. Too high and you will be bending down to reach the table, too low and you will feel like a little kid at the "grownups" table during holiday dinner!
In order to get the best fitting stools, you'll need to have selected your pub table or counter top ahead of time. Measure from the floor to the bottom of the counter or table then buy stools that allow 10 - 13 inches between the stool seat and the bottom of the counter. So if your counter is 41" from the floor, you will want a stool whose seat height is about 31" tall.
The other thing to consider is how many stools you need. Often times when buying bar stools, you want a set to sit around a bar or kitchen breakfast counter but you don't want to overcrowd the area with too many of them. The rule of thumb here is to allow 26 to 20 inches between the centers of each of the bar stool seats.
Relaxing swivel bar stools can be an enjoyable way to entertain guests, and with the selection of styles available, you're certain to find great barstools that will coordinate perfectly with your style of home decor.

Let's Go Fishing...Fishing For Mortgage Prospects That Is
OK...here's our question
"Would you pay for "dinner for two" at your local eatery in exchange for a number of new contacts that can be added to your mortgage database?" I hope so, because this is an inexpensive way to get your name out there, and more importantly, build your contact list.
Simply contact the owner or manager of your popular local restaurant and offer to pay for a "dinner for two" each month. You then place a fish bowl in a prominent place to collect the business cards for the monthly drawing. Historically a fish bowl has been the traditional drawing container and people recognize it as such...so stick with the idea and buy a fish bowl(s).
Most restaurants love the idea since this means more business for them. They'll happily give you the couple of square feet you need to promote this idea. In fact, some will even give you a discount on the gift certificate for the drawing. Don't forget to ask about a discount when arranging the final details of the campaign.
The nice part about this is...you actually control the cost and implementation of the promotion by choosing the restaurant(s) that fit you advertising budget
1. If you can afford gourmet...then go gourmet!
2. Add as many restaurants (fish bowls) as you can afford.
3. Think outside the box and use the idea at your local hardware store, dry cleaner, florist, gift shop, auto repair, oil change facility, or whatever.
4. If you can afford twice-monthly drawings or more...go for it.
5. If after a few drawings you notice a significant drop in the number of new contacts and only repeaters...drop that particular location and find another.
Important...Don't forget to empty the cards (keeping track of their source) so that they don't become a temptation for other businesses and your competition. This is your promotion and your money...the last thing we want to do is assist someone else in building their list. Depending on traffic, a daily stop-by and pick-up may be required.
Create a small sign announcing the name of the previous month's winner and place it near your fish bowl. Contact the winner and arrange delivery of the gift certificate. Remember to place your name and company on the winner's sign...this is your opportunity for some free advertising.
Add the contact information of all of your entries into your mortgage database and work them into your contact schedule. Since most of these are business cards of professionals, you are now the proud owner of some great information such as their name, company, a business phone number, fax number, and an email address.
The steps that you take next will ensure the success of your efforts
1. Mail a letter or postcard to each of them thanking them for participating in the drawing. This is worth the effort and an important first step.
2. Follow up with a phone call. Ask them if you can add them to your email list and periodically send them mortgage and financial information. Be specific about asking permission to add them to your email list...as you will find, it's easier and cheaper to do an email campaign versus a direct mail program. Always ask if you can provide information and news about financing, refinancing or purchasing a home or investment property.
3. Maintain a contact schedule that keeps your name and business in their mind. Remember, you are building a relationship that is based on your knowledge, expertise, and the trust they place in you as a result of this information.
This idea works...it's a great way to build your list! Try it...you can go fishing anytime and more importantly...the fishing is always good.

Accessories: Cheap Access To Look New
If you're having a fashion emergency and you'd either want to spruce up a boring outfit or to simply add a more personalized touch to it, then accessorizing is the art that you have yet to master. And to master such an art, here are the area that you'll have to cover first and foremost.
Hats
They're ideal to literally top off any outfit! And you've got a wide variety of styles to choose from.
Visor - Sporty
Fedora - Night clubbing
Beret - International flair
Trucker hats - Rockers
Baseball caps - May be worn when aiming for the sporty look or when you just want to take cover
Bucket hats - Preppy
Wide-Brimmed hat- usually made of straw. It may be worn during sunny days at the beach.
Skull cap - may also be worn at the beach or when you're going for a little bit of bohemian
So, did I leave anything out? Just remember, not all styles suit everyone. You have a unique face shape so better find something that'd go in proportion with it.
Sunglasses
Unless you're a top secret agent going under cover, it's always worn outdoors on a sunny day. Always!
With extensive styles to choose from, you'll surely find one that would fit A-okay on your face shape without looking like a fashion victim.
Belts
The belts we usually see in stores and boutiques are the wide belts - which may vary in style studded for rockers brown leather for boho lush silk for a wide Japanese-inspired obi-belt, the standard-sized black leather belt (may also come in various styles), and the super narrow belts - which is mostly if not always perfect for a sleek corporate ensemble, especially when worn high on a pencil skirt. You may also let you imaginations run wild, like tying scarves or ribbons around your waist. After all, it's not called "personal style" for nothing.
Earrings
They may be used when you want to draw attention to your face. Classics are pearl or diamond studs which can be worn with practically anything! Hoop earrings on the other hand will make you look ready for clubbing and some partying. It depends on how large the hoop is, of course. Chandeliers scream sexy without being too trashy. While disc earrings usually come and go along with the trend
Necklaces
Layers are so hot right now. The same goes for single-strand chunky necklaces. But a no-fail style would definitely be the pearl necklace. Layered or not, it does not only add the touch of a lady to any outfit but also proves to give your face a nice glow when they come in the natural colors (preferably pink ones).

Using Advertising To Promote Your Website
Provided it is done correctly, Ezine advertising can bring visitors to your website and increase sales. The great thing about Ezine advertising is that you can still target your audience, by advertising in market specific publications. Ezine Advertising is one of the most powerful ways to market.
There are many different types of advertising but one of the most powerful methods on the internet is Ezine advertising, but to some it is confusing. When you hear about classified ads everyone is normally talking about the ads that take up to three to five lines and are mixed in with all the other ads on the page. No matter which type of ad you choose, you will find that Ezine advertising can promote your business and boost your sales. When advertising on the internet many webmasters do not have large budgets so even a small amount of money can be risky. But if you do it right the rewards are much greater than the risks. The great thing about Ezine advertising is that you can still target your audience, by advertising in market specific publications. For instance, if you are promoting children's products, then your Ezine advertising can be focused on parenting publication
With enough traffic the ads response rates are very high but using a more niche oriented approach does yield nice returns. Many online advertising services give you ad campaign reports on a regular basis. They inform you which ads are working and which ones are not. Finally, it offers an effective way to measure how well you are sending your message to your target audiences. The two different types of ads have different requirements the sponsorship ads are much more informative and longer compared to classified ads which are usually only 8-10 lines in length.
The idea you decide to go with or the niche that you will choose to target is a very crucial decision in any publishing venture. Describe your product but tell the reader what your product can do for them. If your product is a new one, start first building an image writing some articles and distributing them for free all around. Remember, whatever you are offering, people are only interested in how it can help them, the benefit. Be honest, No product is perfect.
Articles are the best way to get your subscribers to stick around long enough for the next thing you should do. You still have to wait for people to search on your keywords. Ezine Articles are much more pro-active your articles land right in the middle of dozens or hundreds of different Ezines. Ezine Articles is the standard by which all others must be measured. Your articles will give you an effective way to build up your status as an expert by sharing your tips and advice with your reader
Ezine ad coop campaigns are hard work, but when you measure them again blogs and RSS feeds and the most popular pay per click marketing the results are much faster. Without a doubt, Email and Newsletter advertising campaigns are still two of the best tools available to promote your product or service. Analyzing the results of your advertising campaigns will help you determine where your money should go.

Children and Nutrition in Todays Real World
It is very hard for us as parents to compete against processed fast food fun meals and to ensure that our children are eating a healthy balanced diet. Fast food is constantly being advertised on TV, promoted by their peers, and it comes in bright packaging, sometimes even accompanied by toys. When children are visiting fast foods restaurants or eating 'fun meals' they are missing out on the healthy nutrients that should be filling their little stomachs.
You should always make sure your child's diet contains whole grains, fresh fruits and vegetables. To ensure their bones grow strong and healthy, they should also get good source of calcium. Healthy sources of proteins include fish, eggs, meat, poultry, and plant sources. These should be consumed on a regular basis for a healthy balanced diet. Foods such as these provide your child with the vitamins micronutrients and minerals, everything our children need to build strong, healthy bodies.
There is absolutely no reason why your child should be eating large amounts of sugar. Sugar in a child's diet is seriously bad for them, but is found more and more to the highly refined processed foods available on supermarket shelves.
Some experts contend that a child's behaviour can be dictated by sugar in their diet, particularly in their activity levels, whereas others state that sugar intake does not play a part. Sugar's effects probably depend on the physiology of each child.
When a child's blood glucose level falls below the normal limit, there is a release of adrenaline, known as hypoglycaemia. There are many signs and symptoms that can arise as a result such as sweatiness, shaking and altered behaviour and thinking. This adrenaline release occurs at a higher glucose level in children than that of adults. It is thought sugar itself is not the problem it's the highly refined carbohydrates and sugars which quickly enter the bloodstream and cause rapid fluctuations in a child's blood glucose levels.
By giving your child a high fiber breakfast such as shredded wheat, oatmeal, bananas or berries, your child's adrenaline levels will be kept at a constant level. This will enable them to maintain concentration throughout their morning. You should ensure that their lunch box is packed with high fiber foods such as whole grain breads and fruits, enabling them to continue through their day without sudden changes in their blood glucose levels.
A child's insulin control can also be affected by refined sugars. Insulin determines how much fat a child will store. Sugars are found in nearly all foods. They are often referred to with different names such as sucrose, glucose, dextrose, sorbitol or corn syrup.
Sugar is in almost everything we eat, especially if it is processed or refined food. When you look at labels in the supermarket, you will find sugar under a variety of different names which includes sucrose, glucose, dextrose, sorbitol, or corn syrup on almost every label. The more uncomplicated meals from good wholesome foods contain much less sugar and are therefore much better for their tummies.
Fruit juice should only be taken in small quantities as well as it contains a lot of sugar. It is much better to offer your children whole fruit which is much easier to digest.

Using Promotional Links And Coupon Codes
Internet shopping is growing everyday and as more and more people shop online, many online retailers and merchants are offering shoppers with promotions and discounts for the best value deal possible. Promotions on the internet basically come in two forms which is the promotional links and the coupon codes.
A linked coupon contains a link that will direct you to the online store to avail of the promotion or discount. Basically after you click on the link and be directed to the merchant or retailer online, the discount is applied right before checkout of item
As to coupon codes, online merchants or retailers would require you to enter the promo code but as to where basically is different for varying sites. For some sites, you enter the code while in the shopping cart while for others you are suppose to encode it in the review page prior to checkout. If it is your first time to use coupons on a particular merchant website, observe carefully where you will submit or enter your coupon code. In case you cannot find the area where you are supposedly to enter the code, check the FAQ or customer service section. You can also call to ask your merchant of how you will go about redeeming and using the coupon.
You will basically know that your coupon code is working because on the order page before you finalize and approve your transaction, you will see the cost of your purchase, the other fees charged (handling, shipping, taxes, etc. whatever is applicable) and the discounts applied. Should you not see the discount being applied, better think twice if you'll go on with the purchase.
Online coupons basically cannot be used for redemption on their brick and mortar shops unless the promo states otherwise. Also, most promotions only allow one coupon to be used for every transaction or purchased item. Should you be looking for any additional savings aside from the coupons, you can look for and avail of rebates for your purchased item. You can also call the merchant directly to ask if they are offering any rebates for the item you are buying.
You can basically find good deals about online coupons from newsletters, updates and from coupon sites as well as forums. Message boards and forums are a great source of information on the latest deals to hit the information highway. Grab your coupons and have a great online shopping experience.

Five Simple Ways to Build an Attitude of Gratitude
Focusing on gratitude keeps us centered and helps ward off negativity.
Here are five little things we can do each day to nourish our sense of gratitude
1. Choose your friends wisely.
If you want to be more grateful, spend time with grateful people. Spend time with positive people to be more positive joyful people to be more joyful.
If you strive to be spiritually strong, supportive, empowering, intelligent, energetic, and positive, seek those characteristics in other
Help your friends develop more positive traits by living those positive traits yourself. Know what kind of friends will help you nurture your soul, and set out to find some.
2. Help your friends cultivate gratitude.
I have seen this happen to myself and to my friends We will be perfectly content about a situation until someone tells us we are being mistreated or have a right to be upset about something. Suddenly, we are upset.
Try not to let your friends wield such power, and work to avoid wielding such power yourself. Day by day, hour by hour, make a goal to avoid complaining about your life. Make a pact with your friends to cut the complaints from your conversation
3. Give the gift of gratitude to your children.
Help your children to be satisfied and grateful for simple, everyday things by giving thanks aloud. Keep a Gratitude Journal in which, each day, you record 5 or 10 things for which you are grateful, and ask your children for contributions. Give your children a journal of their own or keep a family Gratitude Journal.
4. Say "Thank You."
Whom in your life do you appreciate? Let them know, whether it is your mom, your kids, your friends, your husband, your childs daycare provider or the helpful woman behind the cosmetics counter.
Write thank you notes regularly, not just after a gift exchange, and be mindful of all the ways you show your appreciation by the things you do in return.
Tell your kids how thankful you are for them. Jot a note to each of your children in which you tell them how much you love them, why you are thankful for them, and all the
ways they have enriched your life. This can be something you give them now or after they have grown.
5. Be mindful of the little things.
Today, strive to be aware of all the aspects of your personal, professional, and family life for which you are thankful.
Take a few minutes today to appreciate nature. Go for a walk and notice only those things that are beautiful. Whether you focus on the stars above, a distant mountain range, or the cottonwood tree in your backyard, try to notice the details. Give thanks for the beauty that surrounds you.
Regardless of whether you record these items, spend some time each day to focus on the little things in your life that make each day special. Perhaps it is your childs toothless grin. A warm home. Delicious food enjoyed with family.
Together, let us work on focusing on what we have, not on what we do not have, and all the ways we can help one another have more gratitude for the gift of life.

There Is No Better Cure Than A Caribbean Vacation
Have you ever dreamed of taking a romantic Caribbean vacation? Do you like the thought of walking along moonlit beaches or riding horseback across the surf? Or maybe you'd like to try your hand at scuba diving or snorkeling?
Whether you are looking for an all inclusive Caribbean vacation for a few weeks, or a quick weekend away from the rat race, the islands of the Caribbean offer enough options to mix and match for the perfect tropical vacation.
When you start to do your research, you might find yourself with a bit of "option paralysis. There are literally hundreds of islands in the Caribbean and it might be hard to choose just one. While they all offer sunshine in paradise, each one is unique. The best thing to do is to start by checking different Caribbean reviews to see what island might be the best fit.
Aruba might be better suited for families, while St. Lucia might be geared more towards couples. The Caribbean site is one good site to get an over all view of these islands. This site provides an overview of all the islands along with Caribbean vacation packages and specials. There are maps and suggestions for things to do during your visit, too.
If you're into water sports, the Caribbean is the place to go. Have you ever wanted to try scuba diving? Most of the hotels offer instruction and dives. It doesn't matter if you're a beginner or a seasoned pro, the guides will make sure that you have everything you need to know with a couple hours of training in the hotel pool or in a quiet lagoon before taking you out into the blue to view the ocean floor up close and personal. There is also water skiing, snorkeling, parasailing, jet skis, fishing and banana boat
The beauty about a Caribbean vacation is that you don't have to do anything at all if you don't want to. If you'd rather sit on the beach with a drink in your hand and your toes in the sand, there are plenty of beaches available. Do some exploring chances are you'll find your own private lagoon to laze the day away.
Some islands might have more nightlife than others. In the Caribbean, you can find some of the finest seafood restaurants as well as a few casinos if you like to spend time at the blackjack tables. Of course, there is always shopping too, so bring plenty of spending money.
The weather is great most of the year. Gentle trade winds keep the temperatures in the low to mid-70s and on islands like Aruba, rainfall is minimal. You might get a rain shower that lasts for no more than a few minutes before it moves on and you have the sun again. Late August into October are probably the worst times to plan a trip to the Caribbean because of the hurricane season. Check with your travel agent for what is considered "peak" season.
Places to stay can be widely varied, too. You can stay in a hotel or you can rent a condo for your stay. Condo rentals provide small kitchens and might save you some money.
Instead of eating out every night, you can sample the local cuisine by going to the markets and buying your own food to cook. Another option is taking a cruise if you can't decide on one island. Book a cruise and go island hopping!
If you have always dreamed of a vacation in paradise, look no further. With a little research, you can put together a cheap Caribbean vacation on a moment's notice and enjoy a trip to the tropics anytime you want.

Keyword Research - The Foundation For A Profitable Website
Keyword research is the process of determining which keyword phrases will describe your website's products and/or services and are actually used in web searches. It is insight into the needs of your customers or clients. Bottom line it is finding out what Internet surfers are actually searching for.
Choosing keywords or keyword phrases can be very confusing for new site owners. If you don't have keyword or keyword phrases optimized on your web site, you will not get the traffic you want and individuals will not stay on your site, read your information or buy you service or product.
Keyword research can be broken down into a three step process. The first step is the discovery phase. In this step you want to focus on identifying as many keywords or phrases as possible.
Initially you need to sit down and brainstorm a list of keyword/keyword phrases that address the topic of your web site. Have a dictionary and thesaurus handy. At this point include every word or phrase that you can think of.
There are several keyword tools that are available to help you generate a keyword list. Some of these tools are free such as GoodKeyWords and Google Adwords Tool, while others such as WordTracker are fee based. With these tools you will be able to generate hundreds of keyword phrase
The second step in the analyzing phase. This step involves analyzing the popularity and competition for the keyword phrases. The quickest way to perform the analysis is to use one of the fee based keyword tools like Wordtracker.
Wordtracker is able to quickly take your list of keyword phases and give you the number of searches in the past 30 days and the number of competitive web sites for each phrase. Wordtracker also supplies a numerical value called a Keyword Effectiveness Index (KEI) that helps determine the competitiveness of a keyword phrase. A keyword phrase with a high KEI means it is less competitive.
From Wordtracker you are able to export your keyword list along with the KEI, search and competitive site data. This information can then be entered into Excel spreadsheets. This will allow you to make comparisons between various keyword phrases and do away with any unrelated or undesirable keyword phrase
The third step is the selection of keyword phrases. From your analysis phase, you should be able to identify a number of high quality keyword phases that can accurately describe the qualities of your website.
In your final selection of keyword phases you need to look for phrase that have a high level of search activity, while the level of competitiveness is relatively low. For making your final selection of 15-20 keyword phrases you will want to do a Google search on the keyword phrases and view the top web sites listed for each phrase. Are the sites professionally designed? Can you design a web page that can move up into the top ratings for this keyword phrase?
When starting a new web site it's highly recommended to target only one unique keyword phrase per page. With your newly researched keyword list you can write your content with a balanced use of unique phrases that will help generate traffic to your web pages.

Why It Is Better To Deal Directly With A Flat Fee Real Estate Company?
With the advent of the internet, many companies have found a niche to market their services. Yes, this is the information age, and people pay for information. In the internet world of real estate, referral companies play that role. Here is how it works. They were lucky to register domain names that they own, Ex. Flat Fee Listing, For Sale By Owner, Sale By Owner, FSBO, etc. If someone types in these names or other names that are similar, their sites come up. These are not real estate companies usually, or not in your state if, they are. They offer for sale by owner exposure with multiple listing options. That is where the local flat fee company comes in. The referral companies are like dating services. They match the seller with the local flat fee company who can list your home.
What is the problem here? Some sellers think the national website will sell their home. Low per-cent chance. People are looking more at realtor sites than for sale by owner sites. The second problem is misperception of the seller. They think the referral company is the real estate company. Wrong! They are national referral company's not local flat fee companies. So, what is the problem? The problem is they sell you services and products that you may not be able to use and don't inform you of local rules of the multiple listing and state laws regarding your listing.
Some examples, yard signs, in our state of the MLS does not permit a for sale by owner sign in the yard. That is the way it is, period. For sale by owners are the enemy. If you get a buyer in some markets, you must use the listing agent services for additional fees. The referral companies can sell you lockboxes that are not the best to use as far as safety and are not as user friendly for realtors. These lockboxes are not allowed in some MLS's they don't tell you your phone number and address is not in realtor dot com. In some markets, the seller's number is not permitted even in the listing. In some markets, it is not limited services. The agent must be a full service agent to comply with the local MLS's rules, which necessitates more fee
Unfortunately, this miscommunication can lead to hostility towards the listing broker who is trying to help you, but must comply with the rules of multiple listing, state law, and other sites like realtor dot com. Bottom line, Caveat emptor-buyer bewares. Know whom you are dealing with and what you are buying. Go to the flat fee company directly. Cooperation and understanding is the key in getting your property sold. You don't need a referral service to get you listed!

It Is Time To Begin Thinking Outside The Desktop
Information is king. It is what drives the Internet. People have discovered that they can turn to the Internet for answers to questions and solutions to problem
Websites are the most common source of these answers. But sometimes the answers or solutions cannot be found on a website. In those cases they may have to purchase and download an e-Book. These are often in a pdf or exe file format that requires the reader to sit in front of their desktop or laptop computer to read it. If the reader has been working at a computer all day, they find little pleasure in facing a computer screen to read an e-Book.
An increasing number of people carry a PDA (Pocket Digital Assistant) around in their pocket or purse. These handheld size computers were intended to serve as organizers for their schedules and contacts. Another purpose for these Pocket PCs or Palms has been discovered. That is as e-Book reader
Commuters to work on light rail or BART trains are seen intensely reading something from the screens of their pocket size computers. In most cases, they are reading e-Books. They may be carrying dozens of full size books in their shirt pocket. There has been an explosion of books digitalized for reading on these devices. Most are either old classics no longer under copyright or best sellers that may cost 80% of their printed version
There is a void of e-Books in the area of self-help, business, hobbies, and health available. This is where the InfoGoRound content is perfect. Rather than try to compete with others who are converting this content to pdf files for the desktop, the marketplace is wide open for this content to be made available for the pocket size computer
How can you convert a RTF file to be read on one of these devices? First you need to decide which type of pocket size device you want to aim for. The Pocket PCs come with Microsoft Reader, an excellent eBook reader. This requires the .lit file format. The Palms can use several readers, the eReader is excellent and they have their own eBook Studio that creates their required format.
An excellent converter is the Text Converter from ABC Amber Conversion software that will convert RTF to .lit, .pdf, html, and several other files types, even one for the Blackberry.
You will be doing a huge portion of our population a big favor if you convert your content for these pocket size computers.

Top 10 Reasons To Use Email Marketing
Ask any marketing expert and they'll tell you "the money's in the list". Email is a powerful and easy way to build a list and communicate your marketing messages to leads and customers. Here are the top 10 reasons to use email marketing.
1. Email marketing is virtually free. Email is truly unique in it's ability to put your marketing message in front of thousands of potential customers at virtually no cost. This means that virtually 100% of revenue generated from email campaigns is pure profit.
2. Email is personal. Everyone's favorite sound is the sound of his or her own name. Most email marketing solutions allow you to automatically customize email messages with personal data such as the subscriber's name.
3. Valuable demographic data can be collected. When a lead subscribes to your email list, you can collect valuable data about your potential customers. This data allows you to better target your marketing messages to your list.
4. Email messages are sent instantaneously. With the touch of a button, your marketing message is sent to your list. There is no waiting for the post office to deliver the message to the customer's mailbox.
5. Email is transparent. With email, virtually every marketing metric can be tracked with a high degree of precision. Among the metrics that can be tracked are delivery rates, open rates, click through rates, and conversion rate
6. Email marketing is highly automated. Very little manpower is required to create an email campaign. Essentially, the only manual work required is the copy writing of email message itself. Other aspects such as delivery and tracking are done automatically.
7. Email messages do not necessarily require any design work. Unlike many other forms of marketing, email messages require little to no designing. In fact, it has been shown that plain text email messages with no HTML tend to be more effective. Plain text messages are much less likely to trigger spam filters and consequently have significantly higher delivery rate
8. Rapid response time. Particularly if you sell products online, an email campaign can begin to generate a response almost immediately. Customers don't have to leave their home and can make a purchase with the click of a button.
9. Email is the ultimate "word of mouth" marketing vehicle. If your email message is "viral" in nature, your customer can quickly and easily forward it to friends and family, spreading your message to new potential customer
10. Email helps you build a relationship of trust with your customers. Email solves one of the greatest challenges in marketing building a relationship with customers. Email allows you to keep in touch with customers, get their feedback, offer support, etc.
Email marketing is a powerful, inexpensive, and cost-effective marketing medium. Start using email today to build your online business.

Need A Professional Web Designer?... 5 Things To Look For
You have decided to hire a professional to do your web design. The problem is that not all of them are professional. Some are working with knowledge that is out of date, and some of them are working out of the basement that belongs to their parent's!
What you need to know
1. Qualifications are worthless. Unless the person has a proper graphical design background, almost all of the web design training is learned at a community college part time and not very credible. Unless the person you are qualifying can explain XHTML and CSS to you and why they are good for your website, stay clear.
2. A good web designer will have a diverse portfolio and lots of attractive sites they have built for their customers. They will also be able to explain to you why they designed the site the way it looks. If a person does not have a substantial portfolio, get them to do a first draft design to display their skill to you.
3. Your designer candidate needs to realize that they are building your website for users. This means all users regardless of technical ability and which web browser they are using. Amateur web designers tend to come up with what they think are impressive looking pages while ignoring the visitors who will come to your site. Ask the prospect which browsers they will test the web site on? (answer as many as possible) What is the purpose of the website? (answer explain the point of the site very simply).
4. Many web designers have no idea what to charge for their services. When you ask, you will get bids form $50 to $5,000. Both of these are ridiculous as one of them may be from a non English speaking foreigner and the other a committee that will accomplish little. Look for an independent individual as opposed to a corporate type person. Be willing to negotiate the price but never agree to a let them do whatever it takes to make a good site and pay by the hour!
5. Be very wary of any web designer who tries to sell you a whole package domain name, web hosting, etc. Most of these types of operations have huge flaws in one area or the other. They will either be web hosting specialists who think designing web pages is easy or designers who are reselling some cheap hosting package for a huge profit. It's best to buy the hosting yourself.
Keep these five points in mind when looking for that perfect web designer.

An Overview Of Caribbean Vacation Homes
Have you ever dreamed of having a vacation home in a tropical paradise? If you are willing to invest a little time and research, you will be able to find many Caribbean vacation homes on the market.
Unlike visiting a Caribbean beach resort or a hotel, Caribbean vacation homes are a long term investment. Searching through web sites and talking to a few international real estate agents will put you on the right path. Having a real estate agent well versed in international sales might be your best bet.
Doing business online can be risky, as you wouldn't want to be taken in a scam and end up losing your money. An international agent will know all the ins and outs of the process and you'll most likely have a very specific paper trail by the time all is said and done.
Consider your budget carefully. Know exactly how much you want to spend and how much you'll be able to afford in the Caribbean vacation homes market. Visit a few different islands to see which one suits you best. There are a lot to choose from, each one more beautiful than the next, but since you're making such a big investment, you don't want to rush and find out later that there was something better someplace else.
While you might end up using the services of an agent, you can still do a lot of your searching online. The internet provides an endless resource for sales and locations. If you don't want to buy a home, maybe you can find one for rent. A Caribbean rental villa might be a better option for you if you don't want the long term commitment.
Of course, if you do decide on buying one of the available Caribbean vacation homes on the market, you also have to consider what you are going to do with it in the off-season. Will you leave the house empty or will you rent the house out to others?
Timeshares are also another alternative. With a timeshare, you and several other people are all buying a share in the same house or condo and you all schedule your times to visit throughout the year. With a timeshare, you pay for someone else to maintain the upkeep on the building.
When you're not there for the rest of the year, you don't have to worry about it at all. Timeshares can also be traded with other people around the world. You might be able to trade time in these Caribbean vacation homes with someone else on another island or another part of the world for time in their
You can also check auction sites for Caribbean vacation homes. Auctions are a great place to get bargains and pay far less than you would going through some of the other sources. With all the choices available you are sure to find one that fits you. Before you know it, you will be looking forward to plenty of days in your vacation home.

Four Tips For Boosting Your Profits With Business Cards
A business card may be the most overlooked advertising medium in the business world. But these simple rectangles of cardboard can be powerful tools to help any entrepreneur increase sales. Similarly, a poorly thought out or clumsily designed business card can be as much of a detriment for your sales as an "out of business" sign.
Business cards have actually been around for much longer than most people realize. The first ones, in the form of visiting cards or calling cards, were used in China about 600 years ago. They started being used in Europe approximately 200 years lager. When one aristocrat went out to visit another, the prospective guest's servant would deliver his master's calling card to the servant of the prospective host. An elaborate system of calling card etiquette developed and was followed by the gentry across England and France.
Today, anyone from North America or Europe who has gone on a business trip to Japan, China or other Asian countries knows there is very much a tradition of etiquette that must be followed when exchanging business cards in those countrie
But even if you are only going to be doing business in your home town, you can help boost that business by following four tips before you have your next business cards printed.
1. Legibility. It's fine to have a creative, attractive design for your card, but do not fall for the trap of selecting a type face that is so fancy it is not legible. If people cannot decipher all the words and numbers on your card, it is useless. Also, remember that, especially in this era of aging baby boomers, type that is too small may also be difficult for some old eyes to read properly.
2. Individualize. You are a unique individual, and your business card should reflect your unique personality. One easy way to do this is to put your photograph on your card. Of, if you are an artist, crafts person or photographer, why not put an image of one of your creations on the card? If you sell unique widgets, put an illustration of them on your card.
3. Proofread. Just as a wood worker should always measure twice before he cuts, every word should be double checked for proper spelling. Every telephone number should be dialed and every web address visited to make sure they are letter perfect before your card goes to pres
4. Use the back. Your business card has two sides, and you are missing a prime opportunity if you leave the back of your card blank. Instead, utilize that space to say what is most important about you, your business, product or service. It could be as simple as "bring this card in for a 10% discount." Or you could use the back of your card to show off testimonials from some of your satisfied customer
There are several very good internet business card companies that let you design your own cards online. In some cases, their shipping costs are less than it would cost you to drive to a local print shop and back.
Finally, if you only need a few cards, or if you want to experiment with different card designs, you can purchase perforated, blank business card stock at office supply stores and make your own cards using templates that come with many computer word processing software program
However your business cards are eventually printed, remember that they may leave a lasting impression of you and your business for many years to come.

Benefits Of A Home Business
For some people, the idea of a home business seems a foreign language. They can not understand how a home business can bring in more income than that of a business that is formed in a solid building. Its much the same line of thinking of those who shy away from the concept of network marketing. Its not a traditional business, so the idea frightens them. Of course, if you do your research and choose a business that is compatible with your skill level and experience, a home business can be more profitable than a brick and mortar business. Some of the reasons why they may happen are described below.
One of the major reasons a home business can be more profitable than a brick and mortar business is overhead. For example, a home business does not require payroll expenses, a sophisticated security system, business phone system and inventory just to name a few. That does not mean that your home business will not have overhead because any business you operate has expenses connected to its operation. The difference is that a home business has a much lower rate of overhead since you are using your home.
There is no need for additional electric, phone, gas or water lines, thus only a portion of the usage of those commodities is expensed for the business. Also, unless you hire people who actually work for you as opposed to outsourcing the work, there is no need for insurance except for yourself. You may need to change your home owners policy to accommodate the business part of your home but you should not need an entire new policy even if you do, the cost will be much lower than that of an entire building.
If you have a brick and mortar business, you can certainly not bring your children to work, even if they are of school age. For one thing, it will be difficult to put them on the bus from another location, so having a brick and mortar business facilitates the need for either daycare or a babysitter if you children are young. With a home business, you may be able to avoid childcare expenses if your children are old enough to understand that you are working and can not be disturbed.
This is especially true if they are all in school since you can probably do most of your work during those hours. You also do not have to worry about losing time from work when they are ill or daycare is closed. You just need to rearrange your work schedule. Some types of home businesses may allow you to work when your children are there but if you meet clients, home or away, you should arrange to have your children placed in daycare or with a babysitter.
