Ice Skates, What is the Difference?

When you think of ice skates, what is the first thing that comes to your mind?
Is it the pair of blades that glide across the frozen pond in town or the skates that trudge through competitors during an NHL hockey game?
There are numerous reasons why people buy and wear ice skates, from the Olympic ice dancer to the recreational user. While various kinds of skates exist, an assortment of factors separates the skates from one another, in terms of shape, maintenance, and purpose.
Ice skates are really just a pair of boots with blades placed on the bottom. After properly securing this sort of footwear, the ability to glide across a surface made from ice is possible. What we use today are a far cry from the first attempts to move across the ice. It is believed that early man tied leather bands on their feet and then took to the ice. The first official ice skates made in history are thought to have come from animal bones like ox and reindeer.
Different Types of Ice Skates
There are four main kinds of ice skates that individuals use today to achieve a variety of accomplishments, such as professional sports to holiday recreation.
Figure skates that are used to compete in the sport by the same name are often fashioned from stable and very strong metal. Toe picks are placed on the front of the blade to allow the skater to perform jumps. The boot that makes up this type of skate consists of stiff leather that provides protection for the ankle during jumps and other figure skating tricks.
Ice hockey skates are typically made from a molded plastic, leather (usually synthetic), and ballistic nylon. To increase mobility on the ice, hockey ice skates often avoid using molded plastic for the upper portion of the boot. All of the skates used during a hockey game are constructed with safety blades so that injury does not come to the opponent. The exception to this regulation is the goalie's skates, which is designed in a different manner.
The skates used for racing are often referred to as speed skates, which have longer blades than other selections. In this category, a racer may use a clapper skate, which presents a shoe attached to a blade made with a hinge. For those entering long distance skating, longer blades are placed on the boot with the help of bindings. This type of ice skates is called touring skates (as well as Nordic skates).
The blades of touring skates are about 50 centimeters long and have a rocker that measures close to 25 meters and 1 millimeter wide. It is the length of these that allows more stability for walking on untouched ice that naturally presents uneven distribution. The blades are also easily removable, which proves a convenience.
For the recreational skater, there is a wide range of inexpensive to higher-end options with a variety of bright colors and fancy decoration to choose from. Often, these types of ice skates are much similar to the molded plastic boot associated with inline skates. Depending on where you purchase your pair, they may resemble figure skates or hockey skate
Additional Differences in Ice Skates The bottom of the blade on modern ice skates offers a crescent-shaped hollow that creates two sharp edges that are parallel on each skate. Varying depths (referred to as the Radius Of Hollow) come into play, where optimal dimensions are influenced through the weight of the skater, as well as the width of the blade. It is the edges of the ice skates that allow skaters to perform a variety of combination moves. When the blades are sharpened, the hollow can be restored. When it comes to speed skates, there is no hollow because this kind of ice skate thrives on a totally flat bottom. The bottom appears squared off with two edges. This is used to increase gliding time without the threat of cutting the ice.

6 Important Questions You Must Ask Management

Finding representation for your career can be a very hard, but very important task if you want to further your career path. Many people rush into contracts, signing on the dotted line before they think clearly about the ramification
Once a contract is made and signed, getting out of it, if there are problems can be very costly and time consuming. With that said, there are at least 6 important questions you must ask yourself when you are seeking representation.
1. Does this manager represent your genre of music? If you are Country, are they Rock and Roll only or do they represent country music as well.
2. How honest do they feel? It is important that everyone on your team is straightforward and honest. Instinct is your best gauge. You should also ask around the industry to find out how others have reacted to this person.
3. Is this manager reputable? Make sure you get recommendations.
4. Are they just beginning their career or are they already well connected. (If someone is just at the beginning of their career, they may not have the connections you need. However, they may also work harder for you and have fewer clients. You will need to consider the pros and cons.)
5. What are their work ethics? You will need to seek out others who have worked with them to find out this information.
6. what is their managerial style? Do they sit back and watch what other people do, or do they take charge of any situations that occur? To obtain this information, you will need to find other musicians who have worked with them.
Avoid anyone who asks for a monthly retainer fee or salary or states that for $5,000 - $10,000 they can redo your demo CD. Legitimate managers do not ask for a monthly retainer fee or salary and inflated costs to redo your demo is a rip off. In addition, asking for a salary is another way of stating they do not believe enough in your talents to take a risk.
Why would you want to work with anyone who does not believe in you? The sad truth is that many musicians, out of desperation for their career, make poor career choices. Desperation does not make good business arrangement
An important piece of advice Do not use an attorney recommended by your prospective manager. You want an attorney who is completely on your side.

Job Opportunities Working at Home with Online Auctions

Home business opportunities are growing each and every day. There are many wonderful qualities associated with home businesses, which make them a tempting job option for many individuals. Some home businesses revolve around one particular type of good or service whereas others focus on many different areas. With the frequent use of the Internet by individuals, it is no wonder that online auctions provide a viable work opportunity for home-based businesses. There are quite a few online auction job opportunities, which one can get involved in working from home.
Selling Items through Online Auctions
One way to make some extra money from the comfort of your own home is by selling items through online auctions. Many individuals turn this sale of goods into a home business and actually purchase items to be sold online. The amount of money which one is able to make via online auctions will vary based upon the auction avenue used, type of goods for sale, the demand for the sale item and whether there is a reserve placed on the bidding amount. This is a great option for home business owners as they can determine just how much income potential is available to them through online auctions. There are a few different online auction companies, which one can affiliate them with and the one that is chosen depends on the desire of the individual.
Listing Items for Sale on Online Auctions
Some individuals also make their living from their home by listing products, which are to be sold at online auctions. These individuals will work for other people or companies who sell large quantities of items via online auctions and will be the workers responsible for describing the articles for sale. With online auctions it is crucial that the description provided for each item is accurate, interesting and complete. This will help to determine whether or not an item will be sold and how quickly it will be sold.
Work Directly with an Online Auction Company
Another option for individuals hoping to work from home in the area of online auctions is to work directly for the online auction company. These companies have many different positions, which need to be filled, and some of these positions are ones, which can be completed by employees in their own homes. Telecommuting from home and working for an online auction company in one of many different positions enables the worker to dabble in online auction business yet never have to leave their home.

Lexapro May Pose Risks To Your Health

Lexapro, also known by its scientific name Escitalopram, is a very popular antidepressant used to treat depression associated with mood disorders. It is also used in certain cases to treat Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and anxiety. If you have never used Lexapro before, you need to familiarize yourself with the drug interactions and the side effects associated with it.
The recommended dosage of Lexapro is 10-20 mg a day. The elderly should take smaller doses and pregnant women should avoid taking the drug altogether. However, the effectiveness of Lexapro over an extended time period has not been sufficiently studied. So, if doctors are prescribing Lexapro to a patient over a long period of time, continuous evaluation of the patient is necessary.
Citalopram and other SSRIs have been shown to cause sexual side effects in most patients, both males and females. Although usually reversible, these sexual side effects can sometimes last a very long time after discontinuation. This disorder is known as Post SSRI Sexual Dysfunction. Weight gain is another possible side effect associated with Lexapro.
Discontinuation from antidepressants, especially abruptly, has been known to cause certain withdrawal symptoms. One possible discontinuation symptom from Escitalopram is a type of spontaneous nerve pulse known as paresthesia or "electric shock sensations", described by some patients as a feeling of small electric shocks, which may be accompanied by dizzines
Lexapro withdrawal symptoms can occur at any dosage. Lexapro withdrawal symptoms can begin within eight hours of a missed dose and can last from one to eight weeks. Some patients have reported hallucinations as a side effect experienced from the withdrawal.
If already using Lexapro, the best advice is to taper off slowly instead of quitting suddenly. It is important to develop a specific tapering schedule with your health care provider to minimize Lexapro withdrawal symptoms. Anyone discontinuing Lexapro runs the risk of suffering from withdrawal symptom
Other discontinuation symptoms include extreme sensitivity to loud sounds and bright lights, chills, hot flushes, cold sweats, reddening of the face, abdominal pain, weight gain and extreme mental fatigue. Also possible is severe irritability and sadness/depression like symptom
I hope you have found this information helpful. Be sure to disclose to your physician any other drugs you might be taking before requesting a prescription for Lexapro. Although the aforementioned side effects do not occur in some people who take the medication and may be mild in those who do experience the effects, they can happen to even the most healthy individuals, so you should be cautious when using this drug.

A Guide To Do It Yourself Credit Repair

Once you have established major credit problems, it can feel like your head is barely above water. Most people don't know how to fix what they started, and if they did, they wouldn't have credit problems to begin with. Where do you find help for the credit hole that you have dug for yourself? The truth is that you should seek help from within, so you do not fall victim to scams, but rather find a solution yourself.
Just as there are get rich quick schemes, there are an equal amount of ads from fly by night companies that will offer you ways to get out of debt quickly. Face the facts, there is no easy way to get out of debt. Don't believe the promises that some company can magically erase your financial mishaps. Very few are legitimate and very few will do what they say.
If a company does not give you all of the information on your own personal legal rights, or if they don't explain that you can do things for yourself for free, they are probably an irresponsible company. If someone tells you that you cannot contact a credit report company directly, they are lying.
If anyone asks you to pay for any sort of credit fixing services up front, they are scamming you. If a company tries to get you to make up an identity and apply for an Employer Identification Number instead of your Social Security number, make sure that you like them because you will probably be sharing a prison cell with them.
The truth is that no one has the capabilities of removing anything negative from your credit report. You may dispute something in your credit report, but you can't have someone go into the computer system and erase it. The point is simple everything that a credit repair service can do, you can do for yourself. The issue then becomes whether or not you want to do it yourself.
Everyone is entitled to a free credit report if you have run into problems like being denied for something like insurance, or employment. You do have to ask for the credit report within 60 days of denial though. If you are unemployed, on welfare, or if you are suspecting identity theft, you are entitled to one free report a year.
Certain companies are required to fill this free request such as Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion to name a few. If you decide that you need an additional copy of your credit report before 12 months, you will have to pay a $9.50 additional charge.
In the case of credit prevention is the best medicine. Don't fall into the trap of letting your payments slip and you won't have to deal with the hassle of repairing it later on. As an added measure of precaution you may want to enlist the help of one of the credit report companies.
Many people use these companies to keep their records up to date and alert them of any identity theft. The government can also be of service and you can visit their ftc website for further information. When it gets right down to it, the best way to avoid dealing with credit repair is to not get yourself in that position to begin with.

Mountain Tax Haven And A Record Property Price Rise

Andorra, a small independent country and European tax haven in the Pyrenees, saw real estate prices rise in value by 19.3 per cent last year, and one local travel guide thinks that another rise in prices is likely in the year ahead.
Best known for her ski resorts, Andorra attracts nearly ten million tourists a year, but it's not just the holiday makers who are falling in love with the country and buying second homes that is fuelling the price rises, the guide say
'Quite a few tourists do like Andorra enough to buy a ski apartment, and there is an active local market too. But what really pushes the prices up is that there's a third stream of buyers, people from around the world who want to take residency and benefit from Andorra's tax haven status.'
Property currently for sale in Andorra include one bedroom apartments at 210,000 Euros, two bedroom apartments in Soldeu, the main skiing area of Andorra, at 272,000 Euros and 280,000 Euros in another ski village Arinsal, and three bedroom apartments in the capital Andorra la Vella at 333,000 Euros. Houses start from around 900,000 Euro
Andorra property specialists have also noticed an increase in buyers recently, and comment that a large part of the increase in buyers is the increased attention from potential overseas property buyers in the UK.
'The number of buyers from the UK has increased quite noticeably over the last couple of years', they say, 'With many quoting higher taxes in the UK as their reason for moving to Andorra. Most seemed convinced that the tax take from their earnings will rise more in the years ahead, and are planning for retirement and selling their businesses now'.
They also comment that historically tax havens have been popular no matter how the economy is. When someone buys a property in Monaco it often doesn't matter to them if it's a few hundred thousand Euros as they're going to save more than that in tax during the time they are resident in Andorra.

Real Estate Price Increases
Demand for property in Andorra for the year ahead is every bit as high as in the past claim local estate agents, with many potential buyers already having planned visit
Surprisingly perhaps for a tax haven, mortgages for a property are as available as many European countries, with rates around the same level. Up to eighty per cent of a property's value is often agreed by the banks in Andorra.
Buying a property in Andorra is often seen as a route to residency, which entitles people to live in Andorra and benefit from her tax haven statu
To obtain residency in Andorra, applications need to be submitted in Catalan. A notarised copy of the applicants passport, birth certificate and a certificate of good conduct from the home country are submitted at the same time. Residency normally takes between three and six months to be approved.
Once residency is granted, residents are supposed to spend six months a year in Andorra, but this isn't policed.
One of the drawbacks for those looking to become a resident in a tax haven when considering Andorra has been that the country has no airport of its own, and is unlikely to have ine future given that it is located in the Pyrenees. The nearest airports are Barcelona and Toulouse.
Recent improvements in the road from Barcelona to Andorra though have cut the travelling time by some thirty minutes to two hours fifteen minute
'Given the tax advantages Andorra has', note the Andorra travel guide, 'A two and a quarter hour trip to the nearest international airport could be viewed as a small price to pay for those who will be saving substantial amounts of money in tax. Especially when you consider that their properties could be rising in value quite significantly in the years to come.'

Outsource Accounting to Boost Your Bottom Line

Business is composed of a set of interrelated systems that ensure the smooth flow of business processes and convert capital to revenue efficiently. It is important for a business owner to consider each component as if it is just the existing system inside the process. Thus, utmost importance and consideration must be given to each process component, which includes the accounting process.
That is why we have tax lawyers. That is why we have public accountants. That is why we have financial managers.
It is because of the accounting process.
It is the measurement and the disclosure of essential financial information that will help public accountants, financial managers, tax authorities, investors, and other decision-makers to effectively allocate their financial resources to each business process, thus maximizing the conversion of a business' working capital to huge revenue
Accounting involves processes in which important financial information of a particular business is recorded, summarized, evaluated, and interpreted. Furthermore, since money is one of the biggest factors that may affect the existence of a business in a certain market, accounting is given utmost attention and consideration at all time
In accounting alone, there are several aspects that a business owner must consider. There you have the cost accounting, the cash-basis accounting, financial accounting, internal fund accounting, management accounting, project accounting, and others.
And the list continues to expand.
In other words, you might conclude that accounting is a serious and a critical matter that must be handled by a group of people who have the technical expertise in dealing with the accounting as well as financial issues. Realizing this reality, more and more business organizations hand the accounting aspects of their business process to third-party organizations, or most commonly known as accounting outsourcing.
Accounting outsourcing is considered to be one of the more effective management tools, thus many companies often incorporate outsourcing as one of their strategies in business planning. As a matter of fact, the Outsourcing Institute reported that the concept of a CRO (Chief Resource Officer), a professional outsourcing executive manager, is widely-acceptable in larger corporate organization
However, you need not be a large corporation to benefit from accounting outsourcing. Even small and medium-sized enterprises can provide better service and produce high-quality products in a more cost-efficient way if they outsource their non-core business processes. This includes the accounting aspect.
By decreasing the demands on your administrative personnel, you will be able to free them from additional responsibilities and they will be able to support areas directly to your sales, clients, and to the marketing task of your business.
Accounting outsourcing firms can execute your accounting and bookkeeping tasks in all frequencies (monthly, quarterly, and annually) or can supplement your present administrative staff to lessen the responsibility. Here is a summary of the services you can acquire from outsourcing your company's accounting process
- Preparing cash disbursement checks
- Preparing input credits and bank deposits
- Preparing company payroll
- Preparing tax deposits and bank reconciliation
- Preparing financial statements
- Preparing payroll tax returns and
- Evaluation and review of financial results on different frequencies.
With accounting outsourcing, you will be able to see the benefits of having a cost-efficient business operation. With your accounting process at the hands of outsourcing professionals, you can focus to the core of your business and convert every cent of your working capital into hundreds to thousands of dollars in generated revenues and profits.

Chemotherapy Treatment for Mesothelioma Patients

Mesothelioma treatment options almost always include chemotherapy. Chemotherapy is recommended by mesothelioma doctors to attempt to stunt or destroy the mesothelioma cells.
Most patients who undergo mesothelioma treatments do so in order to prolong life, or to make life as symptom free as possible while there is still time. Most mesothelioma doctors have the unfortunate duty to prepare their patients for the high likelihood of death.
Asbestos lawyers have joined forces with mesothelioma doctors in providing the best care possible, mesothelioma doctors providing care for the patient's health while the asbestos lawyers provide care for the patient's financial future.
Mesothelioma attorneys are working tirelessly on behalf of mesothelioma victims to provide families with whatever closure may be possible in regards to their financial health.
Mesothelioma treatment options often include a visit with a mesothelioma attorney, as a victim of mesothelioma understands all to well the dire effects of leaving their family without enough funds to pay for mesothelioma treatment.
Unfortunately, most mesothelioma treatment options are very expensive and they are long term. Without the assistance of a highly qualified asbestos lawyer, many mesothelioma victims would have no recourse, and no way to pay for the exorbitant costs associated with mesothelioma treatment.
Mesothelioma doctors understand the long fight, and the toll it can take on the body as well as the spirit, Mesothelioma doctors have testified in countless lawsuits on behalf of asbestos lawyers in an attempt to assist patients fight for their rights.
While mesothelioma treatments are slowly inhibiting the victim from being able to enjoy the life they have left, big business is slowly killing the rights of mesothelioma victims all over the country. The government has added to this problem by passing horrendous laws which protect businesses from asbestos lawyers and lawsuit
Mesothelioma attorneys are there to assist victims of this treacherous cancer with finding monetary assistance to pay for the mesothelioma treatment. Mesothelioma doctors are interested in providing the best quality of life possible for their patients.
Together, they provide the best possible mesothelioma treatment team to allow the victims of mesothelioma to take care of their needs and spend time with their families. Mesothelioma doctors are working on finding cures in conjunction with researchers, although the nature of the disease makes finding a cure in the near future very difficult.
Mesothelioma doctors are wary of promising too much, as most cases of this type of cancer are not detected early enough to remove the cancer. Most mesothelioma treatment options include chemotherapy, physical therapy, and radiation therapy in an effort to destroy the cancer cells and keep patient strength up, with the minority of mesothelioma treatment options including surgical procedures that will allow the patient more comfort, and in some cases, a little more time.
Asbestos lawyers know all too well that it is not uncommon for mesothelioma treatments to take a huge toll on their clients, and there are times when they need to speak on behalf of their clients without their presence. A good mesothelioma attorney will be able to represent their client well in their absence and present a case that will secure a financial future for their family.
Mesothelioma doctors understand the great financial stress that mesothelioma treatments can place on families, even those with insurance. Mesothelioma doctors almost always recommend that their patients meet with an asbestos lawyer to hopefully provide the best outcome possible for the patients and their families.
Mesothelioma treatments whether it is chemotherapy and radiation therapies, or surgical procedures to help patients breathe easier, are a patient's only hope of comfort and the unfortunate long shot at a cure. Mesothelioma doctors are not giving up on finding that cure.
Once mesothelioma treatments have begun, and a mesothelioma doctor and an asbestos lawyer have begun assembling the best treatment and representation options available, then it is time for the patient to dig deep and fight for their own survival.
Family support, medical support, and legal support provide the best overall chances for a positive outcome after being diagnosed with mesothelioma. There is no absolute substitute for overall health, and everyone recognizes the severe unfair nature of mesothelioma, but aside from fighting for a patient's right via a good mesothelioma attorney, victims of mesothelioma always fair better when they deal with emotional backlash and then get down to the business of living as fully as possible and creating the best health for their body as possible.
There is no doubt that the sooner mesothelioma treatments begin, the better the chances become for the victim of mesothelioma.

Five Hundred Million Dollars Pledged To Fight Childhood Obesity Nationally, Including Texas

The New York Times reported, in an April 2007 article, that the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation plans to spend more than $500 million over the next five years to reverse the increase in childhood obesity nationally, including Texas. It is one of the largest public health initiatives ever tried by a private philanthropy.
"This is an epidemic that is going to cost the country in terms of morbidity and mortality and economically," said Dr. Risa Lavizzo-Mourey, the foundation's president and chief executive. "The younger generation is going to live sicker and die younger than their parents because of obesity."
The foundation estimates that roughly 25 million children 17 and under are obese or overweight, nearly a third of the 74 million in that age group, according to Census Bureau data and a 2006 study published in The Journal of the American Medical Association.
Many of those children are poor and live in neighborhoods where outdoor play is unsafe and access to fresh fruits and vegetables is limited. "In many cases, the environment makes it almost impossible for them to choose healthy lifestyles," Dr. Lavizzo-Mourey said. "We're going to try to change that."
The foundation plans to invest in programs to improve access to healthy food, encourage the development of safe play spaces, increase research to enhance understanding of obesity and prod governments into adopting policies to address the problem, among other thing
Experts on childhood obesity welcomed the foundation's plan
"Government grants for biomedical research in general, including obesity research, are being funded at the lowest levels I've seen in my career," said Dr. David Ludwig, director of the Optimal Weight for Life Clinic at Children's Hospital Boston and author of a new book, "Ending the Food Fight." "So we are especially dependent on philanthropic support."
Philanthropy has long fueled improvements in health, from John D. Rockefeller, whose money produced a yellow fever vaccine, to Bill and Melinda Gates, who are underwriting new health technologies and vaccines to address a variety of global problem
Robert Wood Johnson, who built Johnson & Johnson into one of the world's largest health and medical care products companies, established his foundation at his death in 1968 with 10,204,377 shares of the company's stock. He committed it to improving the health of American
The foundation played a major role in curbing tobacco use in this country, spending $446 million from 1991 to 2003 toward that goal, and it plans to use those experiences to shape its attack on childhood fat.
Since 1995, the number of adult and teenage smokers has declined 12.6 percent and 18 percent, respectively.
"It was a very carefully thought-out strategic initiative," said Joel L. Fleishman, a professor of law and public policy at Duke University. The foundation underwrote research, prevention and smoking-cessation programs, and increased awareness of smoking's danger
Over the last few years, the foundation has pledged $80 million to childhood obesity programs, like grants to the Food Trust to persuade supermarket operators to return to poor neighborhood
Its new effort intends to capitalize on and enhance efforts by the food industry and school districts and governments to address the problem, Dr. Lavizzo-Mourey said. Several snack food producers are making changes in their packaging and ingredients, and three soft-drink companies said they would no longer supply sweetened drinks to school cafeterias and vending machine
Several states have mandated changes in school menus, increased physical education requirements and begun reporting students' body mass index scores to parent
In Arkansas, which has one of the most comprehensive programs aimed at the problem, obesity among the 450,000 children in 1,300 public schools has plateaued.
Obesity is a growing American epidemic that takes root early in life. It imposes a variety of health risks that can appear at any phase in life. As you'll discover, what affects your health also will eventually affect your bank account.

Brainstorming Your Affiliate Marketing Business Ideas

You have decided to start an affiliate marketing business -- good for you! You are going to find that you have much more financial freedom, as well as much more freedom in general, so you are shortly going to be able to say that you work from home, and to be proud of this fact. This is going to be great for you, so it is good that you have decided to get started. But how do you do that?
There are several ways to get started with your home business ideas, but among the best ways rest the idea of actually brainstorming what you want to do. You might think you have an idea for a home business, and you might be struggling with the details. Or, you might simply know that you want to have a home business, but you have no idea of what you are going to do for one. Either way, brainstorming can be the right way to go.
The first thing that you should be aware of when it comes to brainstorming is that you are going to need lots of room and you are going to need a way to get your ideas down. Whether you are typing them on the computer, writing them on paper, or scribbling them on white dry erase boards, the point is that you have to be able to write down things in order to make decisions. Don't try to do this all in your head.
The first thing that you should do is take a look at the things you have done in your life and what things have made you the most happy. Start to make a list of the things that you do that are pleasurable for you, and write these things down. This is because the best way to have a home business is to figure out how to be happy with what you do. You should be able to do something that you enjoy, and something that will make you happy. The point of working from home is taking your own destiny into your hands, so you want your home business to be something that you truly are able to enjoy, each and every day.
Once you have started to write down things that you enjoy doing, there is another column that you should make, and this is things that you are good at. Write down what your skills are -- if they are planning or organizing, or writing or interpreting -- what sets you apart form the other people out there, and what are you proud of yourself for? After you have written down these things, you should start to see a pattern in your thoughts, and you can go from there.

Bad Credit and Finding New Employment

People can live without owning a home, they just rent. People can live without owning a car by riding the bus. People can go without health insurance it is not ideal but possible. People learn how to deal with cash only instead of credit cards, but there is one thing that it is hard to function without - a job. Now it is having an effect on people's employment in a way that it didn't in the past.
It is important to know that the law prohibits an employer from denying employment to someone based on bankruptcy findings. However, the law does not prohibit an employer from denying an application, or even rescinding an offer, based on other credit issues.
Some of these issues could be inquiries, foreclosures, or collection actions. More and more companies are using credit reports as a means of hiring, firing, and for promotional purposes. One survey that was taken by the Society for Human Resource Management showed that 35% of companies are now performing this practice.
The most common practice for employers still remains to be the background check, but studies have found that if a company is pooling resources in order to verify background, more often than not, they will go ahead and pull the credit report also. However, many employers have found that finding credit mishaps did not determine whether or not an employee was more likely to steal.
The better predictor, most would say, is a full criminal background check, which would show things such as bounced checks. Employers will also use credit checks in order to make sure employment history is correct and that the Social Security numbers are valid. This is a measurement that is taken as a form of insurance for a company that is trying to hire new staff member
Should you apply for a job with a governmental agency you will most likely have to go through a credit check. This might sound intimidating however a governmental credit check isn't as scary as having one done for a private company. Aside from the usual need for security clearance, the government will run a check if the job you are applying for will have you dealing with cash.
There are rules that people have to follow, regardless of the position that is being applied for. For instance, an employer has to have your permission before they can run a credit check. The permission has to be obtained in writing, and any deviation from this method is against the law.
Bankruptcy is not supposed to be considered a problem. Remember, they can take issue with you not paying your bills, but not if you have filed for bankruptcy. Finally, if your credit information is used against you in any way, the employer is required to tell you what the problem is.
When it comes right down to it, the best thing you can do for yourself is to stay on top of your credit. Credit affects people more and more with each passing year. During the time of our grandparents no one would have ever thought that they would be refused a job due to bad credit. Today, there are many people who lose their jobs due to bad credit and it is affecting us all in ways we never would have thought of.

So when you're out with her at a bar or restaurant, do little things that'll make her feel like a sexually desirable female. For instance, you should kiss her or touch her in a seductive manner. In addition, if you're somewhere dancing, you should try to get up close and personal.
Step #2- Put her in a sexual mindset
When you finally move things back to your home or apartment, you need to create a seductive atmosphere.
You can do this by turning down your lights, pulling out the candles and setting the mood with some good music. By taking these little steps you'll mentally and physically prepare her for sex.
Step #3- Give her a sensual massage
Giving her a sensual massage is the best way to get the sex going. If you can apply the proper techniques, you'll have her instantly read for sex.
Typically you can get great results is you use massage oils with pleasant scent and warming skin. Then you can apply it to her skin and start your massage.
At first you should rub her shoulders & neck. Then after you've warmed her up, you can move on to her intimate parts like upper thighs, chest and lower back.
If you can perfect your massage techniques, you'll instantly turn her on. So you should take your time to learn the best technique
Now if you're not sure how to give a sensual massage, I recommend that you read up on it and learn the best techniques. Just remember that practice makes perfect!
Step #4- Kiss her in a seductive manner
After you give her a massage, you can move on to kissing her.
To get started start kissing her slowly, then see how she reacts. Then work on building up the passion and intensity.
Once she's turned on, you can try kissing parts of her body like her ears, neck, and upper chest. Women have a lot of sensitivity, so you can really put her in the mood with your kissing.
Step #5- Move on to the main act
Eventually you'll transition from foreplay to having sex. Just remember that it's important to take your time and concentrate on pleasing her.
When you're getting ready for sex, you can slowly undress her and explore her body. Furthermore, you can initiate oral sex to REALLY get her in the mood.
Finally a great technique for pleasing her is to tease her before you start having sex. If you do this right, she'll probably go crazy!
Foreplay is the key ingredient for providing a great sex session. If you pay close attention to the 5 steps I've outlined in this article, you'll become the best lover she's ever had.

Avoid Age Spots And Sun Damage

It is important that you take care of your skin on a regular basis, so that for your whole life you will have well cared for skin that you can feel proud of and do wondering things with.
It is important that you learn some tips for taking care of your skin on regular basis. There are several things that are easy for you to do for your whole life, and just by doing those things you are going to be able to enjoy beautiful, soft, and healthy skin that you can feel proud of being in.
First of all, you need to keep your skin clean. There are several ways that you can do this, but you should be sure that you are cleaning your skin on a regular basis because this is going to allow you to keep the skin as clean and as healthy as possible. When you are finished cleaning your skin, you should always remember to put a lotion or a cream, or even a powder on your skin that will help you lock in moisture. This is extremely important because as we age our skin looses moistures, so as much as you can keep in it while you are young, the better.
Another important aspect of lifeline skin care is making sure that you keep your skin out of the conditions that might cause it damage or cause it to age. You should use sun block and keep your skin out of the sun as much as possible, because sun will age your skin much faster. You should use a sun block, and stay out of the direct sun, especially when it is very hot outside. You should also remember that you need to use a sun block in the winter, because the sun can damage your skin, even if it is not warm outside.
Also, there are many lotions that you can use on a daily basis that help your skin to retain moisture and also to tighten. These factors will both help you promote good skin health and allow you to feel good about the skin that you have, for your entire life.
No matter what, you are stuck with the skin you were born with. However, we are lucky that we live in a time where there are many products that are available to help us to take the best care of our skin that we can, so that it will last, and be beautiful, for our whole lives.

What Your Real Estate Agent Hasn't Told You

Perhaps the best kept real estate secret is out. Real estate agents are offering cash rebates to new home buyers. That's right. There are agents willing to share their commissions with home buyers. If you're wondering why you haven't heard about this before, here are a few possibilities
1) Traditional thinking is that the agent has worked hard for the commission and they deserve the entire amount. The agent usually spends a lot of time and effort with prospective buyers and the agent is not inclined to share commissions earned through these effort
2) Many agents believe it is illegal to offer rebates. While this is certainly true in a small number of states, the vast majority of our states do allow cash rebates on real estate. Texas, Nevada, Georgia and Virginia are just a few of the states that allow cash home rebates. The rebates can only be paid to a principle in the transaction and must be disclosed. If you're a buyer, you are a principle.

3) Not all agents can afford to give up a percentage of their commission to their buyers. They already give a large portion of their commission to their broker. They certainly can't afford to split off even more of their commission to a buyer.
But, times are changing in the real estate field. As consumers become more educated, they are actually accomplishing tasks that were traditionally allocated to their real estate agent. Tasks like searching for homes on the internet and visiting model homes on their own.
Buyers often have a pretty good idea of where they want to live before they actively start viewing different homes. Then, they like to go at their own pace when viewing the properties. Many don't need or want an agent around for their search.
The new breed of agent is willing to reward consumers for absorbing what was traditionally the agent's work. "If I don't have to spend time showing buyers different homes, then I'm happy to split my commission with them" says Darlene Bauer, president of RebateJazz.
If you are in the market for a new home, condo or land, and you are already spending your own time researching for your purchase why not first check to make sure your state allows rebates? And then seek out an agent that is willing to share their commission with you.
Cash rebates create a win-win situation for all the principles involved in the transaction. The seller makes a sale. The agent earns a commission. And the buyer puts cash in their pocket at a time when money could be a little tight after making such a large purchase.

Easy Steps To Weight Loss

It might seem like losing wait is something you have been trying your whole life to do and something that you have always been unsuccessful at. This might be true, but even as you get older, there are still things that you can do to lose the weight that might be unhealthy for you to have. There are lots of little things that will not only help you lose weight, but that will also benefit many aspects of your life.
First of all, try to get as much motion into your daily routine as you can. If you usually walk from your bedroom to your bathroom, try changing things so that you first walk downstairs, then back upstairs, then to the bathroom, then down stairs and upstairs again before you get to your bedroom. If you start adding trips up and down your stairs into many aspects of your daily routine, you aren't going to be taking that much more time, but you are going to be adding plenty of good movement to your daily life.
Also, If you drive to work, consider walking instead. If you have a long commute, and aren't able to walk, there are other things that you can do. Park the furthest away that you can park from your work, and walk there, even if this means leaving ten minutes early to allow yourself the time to get from your car to your work place. This might seem like extra work, but really it is a good way to allow yourself the time to get some good exercise in.
There are also things that you can do at work to make sure that you are getting a good amount of exercise. If you are able to, you might want to walk up the stairs instead of taking the elevator. Another important way is to walk two floors up to deliver a message, instead of sending an email.
If you usually get lunch delivered to your office, see if you can walk to pick it up instead. The same goes for coffee and snack breaks. If the snack machine is on the ground floor, take the stairs instead of the elevator. This is going to allow you to begin to put more motion into your life, and be much healthier in your entire life.
Remember, it is never too late to begin to put more movement into your life. It can only help you.

Digital Displays: Things Are Not Always As They Appear

The most obvious thing about digital signage is the display panel. It's the first thing you see, and probably the last thing you think about once it's hung and showing the content you want others to see.
But did you know that just because your digital signage messaging is playing back on a flat panel plasma or LCD that it's not necessarily being shown in HD quality? While they're somewhat less common today, for the past few years display makers have marketed right next to the HD panels- something known as ED panels or TVs. EDTV stands for "Enhanced Definition Television" -something that's better, to be sure, than the ordinary television in most homes across America, but nowhere near as good as HDTVs and HD monitors. So, what makes one panel "enhanced" and another "high-def"? Basically, its pixels, scanning and terminology.
Pixels first
If your interest in digital signage is more about what it can do for you than how it does it, you might not be very familiar with some of the basics. First, a pixel is a picture element. Many say it's the smallest picture element in a display, but maybe a better way to think of it is as the smallest whole picture element in a display. That's because just like Gaul, all pixels are divided into three parts -red, green and blue. Those parts are often referred to as sub-pixels. But for the sake of this discussion, let's stick with pixel
In plasmas and LCDs, pixel count is pretty cut-and-dry. These displays are made up of rows and columns of picture elements or pixels. An SD panel -or standard definition panel, the closest thing to your ordinary home TV- will have 480 rows and 720 pixels across. EDTVs have the same number of rows, 480, and 853 pixels acros
Besides having about 20 percent more pixels across, another important distinction between the two is the type of scanning used. An SD display is interlaced just like your fingers are when you do "Here's the church, and here's the steeple...." Drawing one complete picture, or frame, in an interlaced display requires the monitor to scan the odd number rows in an image sequentially first, i.e. 1, 3, 5 etc. and then the even numbered rows 2, 4, 6 etc. Together those two interlaced "fields" make up a frame. There are about 60 fields per second, or about 30 frames per second in SD video. (I won't trouble you with the why regarding the term "about.")
These interlaced fields are displayed so quickly that the scanned odds are still aglow, although decaying, while the evens are being scanned. However, that decay in the glow and constant refresh account for a flicker that's visible to some.
ED monitors are progress scan displays. Like computer monitors, they scan lines, 1, 2, 3, etc. all the way to line 480. It's the greater number of pixels and this progressive scanning that makes them better than SD, or in other words, enhanced.
Enter HD
HD or high definition can produce a view of the world that's lifelike. If you doubt that, flip on the Discovery Channel and then flip over to Discovery HD on an HDTV. You will be amazed.
There are many different types of high definition standards, but you only have to be concerned about a few things when it comes to digital signage. First and foremost, HD is pixel count. If it's got at least 1280 x 720 pixels, it qualifies as HD. However, here's where things get a little confusing. HDTV and monitors also come with 1920 pixels across and 1080 pixels vertically, and they come with lots of different pixel counts in between. Those "tweeners" have more to do with the manufacturing capabilities and priorities of the company making the panel than they do with the actual HD standard.
Not quite as they seem
Without a doubt, HDTVs are burgeoning in the home and HD panels are becoming popular displays for digital signage. Their ability to reproduce lifelike images is breathtaking. That's powerful clay in the hands of digital signage sculptor
But don't be confused. Just because a panel is flat, it's not necessarily HD. Look for the panel's resolution in pixels. Find out what type of scanning it uses. Together, those two pieces of information
can tell you what you're looking at, even if your eyeballs aren't sure. It can also save you the headache of mistakenly acquiring the ED monitors that seemed like a steal when you thought you were buying HD.

The Pros And Cons Of Rewarding Your Employees

How are you with rewarding your people?
The occasional box of chocolates. Maybe an away day 'Team-Building', dressed up as learning, with a few (or a lot of) beers at the free bar!
Sometimes you'll recognise just one person for a particular effort. Other times all of your people need recognition for a team result, where a big goal has been achieved overall.
Recognition by reward is, frankly, fraught with difficulties!
Indeed in teams where your management style is seen to be consistent and fair to all, you will be doing pretty well and above the average, just doing that and very, very motivational it will be!
Tangible reward is another ball-game. You can do it if you are fair and consistent, as a basic requirement, and also listen hard for clues to enable you to be inclusive for all your people. Reward for great performance on an individual basis needs to be fact-based above all.
Then everyone needs to be in a position to be able to achieve whatever greatness it is that you reward for.
From the folks who keeps the toilets clean, to the front-end star salespeople - whose achievements are much more easily related to the business end. Making sure everyone can be recognised can be a 'winner' is vital.
Then, recognising everyone on a rota basis is tough as well!
If you are seen to be doing this, then sceptics will spot that their turn will come whatever and the value of the reward is DEvalued.
See the tricky bits in this?
The key is to keep it fun and light. Rewarding the whole team with simple and fun things like cream cakes or chocolate as a start can worth really, really well.
As a manager, be especially sensitive to things you hear where someone has done well and reward them accordingly.
Maybe by letting them go early one night or have a shot at a different role they've aspired to for a couple of day
Truth is, reward is best served up by thanks and personal recognition. And tangible treats are fun to do and use as long as they fit in with the environment of the place where people work.
There are two pitfalls for tangible reward-
1. You only reward your own or your senior team's 'favorites' - and then one half of your team feels badly done to, which undermines overall morale.
2. You overlay material reward on unhappy employees. And they are unhappy because their workplace is not the best environment for them to work (the things that should always happen as a core don't happen).
Sharing a free cake or two with each of your people, without the basics being right, is never going to be in your best interests.

Overcoming Erectile Dysfunction Without Drugs: New Hope For Men

Women have been encouraged to strengthen their pelvic floor muscles through regular exercising for decades. As the baby boomer generation begins to feel the effects of aging, more and more women are taking up that message to maintain continence and sexual health well into their older years.
But now comes the news that strong pelvic floor muscles may also be critically important for men.
A British study of men suffering from erectile dysfunction found that a simple program of pelvic floor exercises, done correctly and regularly for 6 months, overcame the problem in 40% of men, with a further 35.5% showing a real improvement.
Men in the study were initially divided into two groups, with one group undertaking the exercise program and the other group receiving advice on lifestyle changes, such as giving up smoking and reducing alcohol intake. An assessment after three months showed that men doing exercises had improved markedly whereas the men in the lifestyle group showed no improvement. Men in the lifestyle group were then switched into the exercise group and another assessment took place three months later. By this point, all men had improved, and they continued to improve over another three months while they exercised at home.
Two thirds of the men in the study also experienced "dribbling" after urinating when they started the program, but this was significantly overcome by pelvic floor exercising too.
The authors are so convinced of the importance of their findings that they recommend that a pelvic floor exercise program be considered as the first therapy option for erectile dysfunction, before drugs or other more invasive treatments are tried.
The good news for men who need help with the problem of erectile dysfunction is that pelvic floor exercises can be done discreetly at home, in a way that fits in with each man's lifestyle and schedule.
In the study, the exercise technique was taught by therapists, using widely available instructions.
For men who are not able or willing to consult a practitioner, many resources are available to help. Leaflets, books, DVDs and exercise devices can often provide the answer. An exercise device can help to
-identify and isolate the correct muscles for squeezing
-provide resistance and visual feedback on squeeze strength and duration and
-maintain motivation by providing clear evidence of progres
Whatever method is chosen for learning and monitoring the correct exercise technique, a simple pelvic floor exercise program may be the answer for many men who are reluctant to take the drugs that are usually offered as the first line of therapy.

Fishing and Oyster Men!

My trip to Apalachicola this time was only for a few days. Normally I try to spend a week or more there, but this time I had to limit myself to three days on the bay. After a tough winter, a walk on the beach in early spring was wonderful! A cold front came through on the third night and cooled off the whole area. I'm glad I didn't have to be on the water with the wind howling from the north. I'm a fair weather fisherman and cold winds make me shiver.
Early morning on St. George Island is what I dream about when I'm not there. I walked out on the deck of the property where we were staying, early enough to see the bright orange ball of the sun back lighting the entire bay. The shoreline, grass and docks were silhouettes of burnt umber, backlit by a burnt orange sun. Absolutely beautiful!
Finishing my coffee and a sausage biscuit, I launched my kayak and began paddling my way toward St. George Island State Park. I saw a couple of oyster boats a couple of hundred yards away, racing toward oyster bars. I stopped and watched one of them slide up to a spot he had obviously worked before, for he knew exactly where it wa
Standing up in his long thin boat with a little shack on top, he picked up the tongs he would use to harvest oysters. There was another man in the boat who would be culling the oysters as they were brought up, making sure that each one was at least the legal size of 3 inches long. I envied then the freedom this kind of occupation afforded them, but only for a moment.
By nature I'm a lazy man and tonging for oysters is hard work, not to mention back breaking work! The oysterman was using a long handled device that looked a little like a two-headed rake, but operated like a post hole digger. Plunging that contraption into the water and bringing it up to the boat all day long is hard enough, but then you have to take those oysters home and someone has to shuck them! I've done a little oyster shucking and it's not easy either!
Leaving them to their work, I began paddling again toward the grass beds near the State Park. Here there were no docks sticking out in the water, just a natural shoreline that continued for at least 8 miles before it ran out of island. The next little Island was Dog Island, but I wasn't going that far. I didn't need to I had enough water and cover for fish to last all day long without trying another island.
I tied on a gold spoon onto my 8lb. test line. Using a spinning rod and reel, I cast near the grass and retrieved the spoon at a moderate pace. Nothing! Moving on down the shore line I fished for a half hour and decided that the fish were not in the grass beds this morning.
The great thing about having miles of water is that you have plenty to choose from. I began paddling in the open water between oyster bars and changed my bait to a silver spoon and immediately I caught a speckled trout. After an hour I had my limit and headed back to the house to see what the rest of the family was doing.
Tonight was our night to stay in and have a seafood feast. We cleaned the fish and put them on ice for the evening meal. Oysters, shrimp, and scallops were waiting in the seafood shops on the island and across the bridge into either East Point, where you turn right off the bridge from St. George Island, or Apalachicola to the left. We turned right.
East Point, Florida is truly a fishing town, right out of the history books! It looks like it's straight out of a Hollywood film. It has a fish market where you can buy shrimp, oysters and scallops. They also have a oyster house where oystermen sell their catch of the day. There was a "Help Wanted" sign on the door. Well, not exactly a sign, it said, "Oystermen Wanted" on the flap of an old card board box.
In addition to a couple of store fronts catering to fishing charters, there was a convenience store that was bulging with a little bit of everything you could imagine and a thrift store run by the local church. There was a diner that looked as if it had been closed for years. There may have been a couple of other businesses but I can't remember what they were. All in all, a great little fishing town!
We picked up the fresh seafood and other items then went back across the bridge and prepared for the evening's meal. Even cooking is fun on the island!

Getting Started- Choosing Your Niche

There are three main components to keep in mind when you're building your Portable Empire
1. Building your list
2. Building your relationship with your list
3. Making products and selling them to your list, and through Joint-Venture and affiliate arrangements, to the universe.
Let's talk about choosing your niche. This is the playground where you're going to play- so keep it interesting and fun.
According to the Mirriam-Webster dictionary, niche means
2 a a place, employment, status, or activity for which a person or thing is best fitted "finally found her niche" b a habitat supplying the factors necessary for the existence of an organism or species c the ecological role of an organism in a community especially in regard to food consumption d a specialized market
When we talk about our "niche
in internet marketing, we're referring to "d a specialized market," although the other definitions are relevant.
It's important to target all of your efforts to one specific, specialized market. To develop a large, loyal list of subscribers, you need to offer a solution to a problem that is shared by a large group of people.
Over time, one of your most valuable possessions will be your list of people who are not only interested in the solution to their problem, but will also pay you for solution
If you choose your niche wisely, it will be deep enough to include a lot of related problems. For example, my niche is education, specifically in the area of internet marketing for beginner
That's a big playground. I can talk about the mindset of success, the inner game of marketing, how to create a PDF file, video editing, and hundreds of other related topics. I can provide the information as an e-book, an audio download, a CD, a streaming video, or a DVD.
You might want to jot this down "Every problem is a product."
As my customer solves one problem- hopefully with a solution they buy from me- that leads them to the next problem. My job is to make sure they know about the problem, and make it easy for them to buy the solution from me. At that point, the client will weigh how important the problem is to them, how long it would take them to solve it on their own, and, hopefully, purchase the solution.
Over time, I've created a lot of solutions. As I solve each problem for myself, I turn that solution into a product.
To the people who are behind us on the learning curve, we're the experts.
Over time, I've left a trail of solutions, and gathered a list of people who are on the same journey I'm on. This is how you create multiple streams of passive income.
As you read the instructions below for choosing a niche, keep that in mind. Be sure to pick a niche that has a long learning curve, with lots of fun problem
Let's take this to the real world.
One of the best tools for communicating with your subscribers is a blog (web/log). I advertise mine as "unedited and uncensored," and do my best to keep it real and relevant, with tongue planted firmly in cheek.
Here's an excerpt from my blog
Recently, one of my mentoring clients asked
Could you please explain how you coach people to success? I have been down this road before trying to come up with a product to solve a problem. It didn't come up with anything. ! I don't have a clue in coming up with a product. Do you have a specific process to come up with profitable ideas??? I hope so, I need the process you go thru.
I responded
I suspect that he's not the only one asking this question. As a matter of fact, my domestic partner Betsy and I were just talking about this over dinner. She's struggling with the same problem.
I think we can sort this out.
First, you need to chunk the question down and simplify it. Right now, the problem I'd like to solve is breast cancer- a very dear friend is battling this demon, and I've lost several loved ones to it. Another problem I'd like solved is political- I'm afraid that Ike was right when he warned us to beware the military-industrial complex. Then there's hunger, homelessness, global warming, and the fact that there's not a real first-class Mexican Food restaurant in Wimberley, Texa
Realistically, I'm not an oncologist, a political scientist, social scientist, or first-class Mexican Food chef. We need to find problems we can actually solve, and hopefully in a niche that we can stay interested in.
To me, that's the real danger- finding a niche that's profitable but boring. I think it's important to find a niche you're passionate about.
For example, I'm passionate about self-actualization, and I don't think that's something you can achieve working 40 hours a week at a job you're not passionate about. I think humans were created in God's image, and she didn't intend for us to spend our brief time on this spinning globe in mind-numbing tedium. I'm convinced that we're living in an infinite universe, and that there are enough resources for everyone. My solution is the "Portable Empire" concept, which allows you to travel, think, meditate, and grow to your full potential without having to punch a clock.
So, when I'm looking for a problem to solve, I limit my search to the niche of "Your Portable Empire."
That simplifies the problem, and also simplifies finding the solution. I promote seminars, videos, audios and e-books that teach people to create multiple streams of passive income.
A lot of my products start out as conversations with my mentoring clients.
So, step one is to identify your niche.
How do you do that? You need to find a subject that you're a) passionate about, b) knowledgeable in, and c) is broad enough to have a large customer base.
In my case, I'm passionate about freedom- and you need financial freedom to acquire intellectual freedom and freedom of mobility. I'm knowledgeable about the subject- I make a healthy six-figure income doing what I teach. And finally, there are more than enough people interested in the subject to make it profitable for me.
One way to work your way through the niche-finding problem is to take a piece of paper and draw a line down the middle. On one side, write down all the subjects you're knowledgeable about. An example could be
Raising happy children
Maintaining automobiles
Losing Weight
Yoga
Golf
Healthy relationships
Feng Shui
Getting a good deal on antiques
Graphic design
Cleaning houses
Cooking
Art (painting, drawing, collecting, etc.)
Music (playing an instrument, promoting a band, making a recording)
Poker
Chess
Stock market investing
Take some time with this- you know a lot more than you think you do.
Then, in the second column, make a similar list of things you're passionate about. PASSIONATE! Not just interested.
Then, see what turns up in both columns. On another sheet of paper, make another list of just the things that are in both columns, with the most fascinating (to you) subject first, the next most fascinating subject second, etc.
Now, starting with the most interesting subject, do a Google search to see who else is marketing to your future customer
If you turn up a blank, or just a few results, go to the next one. Just because you're passionate about under-water stamp collecting doesn't mean it's a good business model. Call that a ho

Dealing With Disease

One of the most frustrating things that can happen to you as you get older is dealing with sickness and other disease. If it is something that is not life threatening, it can still be damaging to your life because it might impact other areas of your life and your health, and it might be hard to recover from those effects once you have recovered from the original sickness.
The best way that you can deal with disease and other sicknesses is to make sure that you are taking proper care of yourself through the sickness. Take all of the medicines that you are supposed to take, even if you feel like you don't have to take them, or that you can stop taking them. Take whatever your doctor tells you to, and take it whenever you are supposed to. You should also talk to your doctor about nutritional supplements that you can take while you are sick, so that some of the nutrients you are losing through the sickness can be replaced. Remember that you need to ask your doctor if there is anything else you should be taking.
If you are dealing with a long-term illness, you still want to have as productive of a life as you can have. You should talk to your doctor about ways that you can stay active, even if you cannot be as active as you have been in the past. There might be some exercises that your doctor will have you do, even if you are bedridden, so that you can keep whatever muscles you have that aren't affected by your sickness healthy. As soon as you feel better, you should begin to get some movement back, so make sure you are in contact with your doctor about thi
Another important aspect to getting through disease is to keep your mind sharp and to keep thinking about things. Read books and magazines, or listen to them. Talk with others about interesting things. See if you can find something like crossword puzzles or other kinds of puzzles that will help your mind to stay active and sharp. Keeping your mind sharp is important, because it will help you to be able to recover faster from your illness. Even if your body is unhealthy, our mind doesn't have to be. You should always take care of your mind, and always continue learning new things.
Disease doesn't have to mean the end. By keeping a positive outlook on life and taking care of your body in the best way possible, you can continue to have a high quality of life.

Keeping Active As You Age

Probably the hardest part about staying healthy as you age is keeping active. We all have those days that we feel like doing nothing. We'd like to sit in front of the television and just watch, or sit on the computer all day. We might want to do nothing but stare out the window to see the world go by, and we might feel that since we have retired and we have done our lifelong work, we deserve to simply relax.
However, it is important to know that one of the keys to a healthy and happy retirement is to stay active. You should stay active as long as you can, even as you get older. You should try to do as much activity as you can handle. Before you begin to be active, you should talk to your doctor about your body and what limitations you might have. Your doctor can suggest some things that you can do to stay active that might benefit you in more ways than you know. It is very important that you talk to your doctor before becoming more active, because he can tell you what you should and shouldn't be doing.
No matter what happens to you in your life, you need to stay active. Even if you can't ride a bike like you could when you are younger, or if you don't have the muscles that are needed to do things like weight lifting and other sports, you can always simply be active. Walking around the block or to a friend's house instead of driving is a great way to maintain your activity. Even if you are only walking a little bit each day, it is much better for you than not being active. Try to be active in some way every day, even if you just walk around the building where you live, or walk out to get he mail.
We don't know how long we are going to have to be active, and so we should take every opportunity to stay active that we can. Even if you are in a wheelchair, or have limited mobility, you should talk with your doctor about exercises that you can do with the parts of your body that are mobile, so that you can keep your heart rate up and keep feeling better about yourself. Always remember to stay active as much as possible.

Head to the Horse Track for Thrills and Profits

While some find casinos a little stuffy and dog tracks kind of boring, these same people will flock to the races to get involved in horse betting. Providing an atmosphere that's entirely different that other forms of gambling, there's just something about the thrill of the race and glamour that goes along with this particular sport that reels people in.
The truth is horse betting is a pastime that goes back hundreds of years in human history. Shortly after the first horse was tamed, the sport of horse racing was created, with this creation came horse betting. The sport has grown through the ages with horses bred specifically for racing and bloodlines fiercely protected.
Considered a sport of kings and royalty for many years, the appeal of horse betting and the pomp and circumstance that surrounds it remains high today. Many find this to be a great pastime for a number of reasons. The popularity of this particular sport has these draws
* Chance to win money. There's no denying the appeal of horse betting falls largely on the fact that people can win money, big money, when they place winning bets. The fun of winning is never overshadowed in this sport where first-place horses are celebrated with wine and roses and winners can take home some serious cash prize
* Beauty of the animals. Many who enjoy horse betting actually do so because they simply enjoy watching the animals themselves. There's something quite majestic about watching these tame giants sprint at speeds that are incredible. Their grace and beauty is no doubt a big draw for this sport. So too is the fact that many fall in love with some horse and simply enjoy watching their favorites race and place.
* Atmosphere. The race track is fun and so is horse betting. This is a big draw for many who simply enjoy the camaraderie involved in horse betting. Just like a big football game or other similar sport, the energy involved in the stands is only rivaled by the energy on the track itself.
* History. Horse betting is one of the oldest gambling sports going. Some people simply enjoy being involved in a tradition that dates back hundreds of years and includes kings, queens and people of mean
* Event. A horse race is an event, a big one. The pomp and circumstance involved in a big race can draw people in just for the spectacle itself. The ceremony involved in such events as the Belmont Stakes and the Kentucky Derby are worth watching in and of themselve
* Legality. Horse betting is one of the few forms of gambling that's legal in most places in the United States. This means that while many cannot enjoy the inside of a casino without breaking the law, they can go and make horse betting a pastime without fear of getting in trouble.
Horse betting is an ancient tradition that's open for the enjoyment of people from all socio-economic classes. At the horse track, people who love horses can rub elbows with the rich and famous while enjoying common bond.

Chanel: A Brief History of Chanel

Chanel was founded by Gabrielle 'Coco' Chanel. She opened her first shop, 'Chanel Modes' (Chanel Fashions) in 1910 at 21 rue Cambon in Paris. This was primarily a millinery shop, and the famous French actresses of the time soon flocked to buy her creations.
In 1913, Coco opened a new boutique in Deauville and her line of jersey sportswear proved to be an instant hit. It changed the way that women felt about clothing and their lifestyles, too. She had led the revolution of dismissing the restrictive and tight corsets of the time in favor of comfort and casual elegance. This success led to the opening of the first Chanel Couture House in 1915, in Biarritz. Coco was now one of the most popular designers in Pari
1921 saw the opening of another new office for the business, this time at 31 rue Cambon. It was here that Coco launched her now world-famous perfume, Number 5. This was followed, in 1924, by the founding of the 'Societe des Parfums Chanel' to produce, promote and sell the growing range of Chanel beauty products and perfumes. Coco was also commissioned to design the costumes for Jean Cocteau and Darius Milhaud's ballet, 'Le Train Bleu', that was performed by Diaghlev's Ballets Russes in the Theatre de Champs Elysees. At this time, her first costume jewelry range was also launched.
The first of Chanel's most famous pieces of clothing, the 'little black dress', was introduced in 1926. The fashion magazine, 'Vogue', announced it as the 'new uniform of the modern woman' and its equivalent still remains a mainstay of many women's collections today. After visiting Scotland, Coco began using tweed in 1928 and created her first tweed suit
In 1955, Chanel introduced her first fragrance for men, Pour Homme. In the same year her quilted shoulder bag took on the design that is still in use today. Coco was awarded the Fashion Oscar in 1957 as the most influential designer of the 20th Century a title she richly deserved. Not a bad achievement for a girl who had been born part of a family of six children to a poverty stricken French family.
Gabrielle Chanel died on 10th January, 1971. However, the House of Chanel continues to enjoy International success. This has been, most recently, under the control of Karl Lagerfeld, who was appointed 'Art Director' in 1983. From this point, Chanel would encompass a wide range of different styles and visions, but the classics of Coco still remain best sellers.

Life Long Nutrition

It is important that you know that life long nutrition is important to your over all health and well being. Nutrition will influence every aspect of your health, so it is important that you know how important what you put into your body is going to be to your health.
It might seem that once you get older you can go ahead and eat whatever you want, because you have earned it by being good and staying on a good diet your whole life. However, it is more important than ever that you watch what you are eating as you get older.
Getting older is not the time to begin to eat poorly, because as you get older your body needs the nutrients in food even more, and you might find yourself getting sicker often if you aren't eating the right things and taking good care of yourself.
Good nutrition for your whole life includes many different things. First of all, you should make sure that you have chosen a nutrition plan with your doctor that you can stick to.
If you have special diet needs due to your lifestyle choices or your religion, you need to figure out how to eat things that correspond with your decisions without negatively affecting your nutrition.
An easy way to do this is to have your doctor refer you to a nutritionist, who will help you to see what things are good for you to eat, and what things you shouldn't be eating.
Once you have set a diet down with a nutritionist, you can make sure that you stick to it for your lifetime. This will ensure that you are able to be healthy, no matter what.
Part of good nutrition is eating foods that are rich in vitamins and that have the right nutrients for your body. You should be having a diet that is comprised of all of the right groups of nutrients - fibers and vegetables and proteins, as well and vitamins.
There is also a need to make sure that you are either eating foods that have all of the food groups in them, or that you are taking nutritional supplements to help your body deal with the things that aren't in your diet.
Remember that the best thing to do is to eat everything that you want, but in moderation. You should have a good balance between the food groups and the things that aren't so good for you, and you should be sure that you are getting enough exercise, so that those days when you do eat whatever you feel like you will be better able to handle those things.

Discover the Advantages of PC Television Today

A computer is one heck of a tool for working on. It can launch ships. Run incredibly complicated calculations and it can even help organize almost endless amounts of data. But, where a computer at home really shines is in the fact it's one heck of an entertainment device. Now, as the power of the computer is tapped into more readily, the PC TV is stepping forward to offer new entertainment solution
The PC TV offers some advantages over regular television that were previously only imagined. These advantages include such things as
* On-demand capabilities. A Personal computer TV that's hooked into a good service for finding and playing different shows can give users almost unlimited abilities to watch shows when they want and how they want. Rather than having to wait for a set time, a PC TV can locate a program on different stations and play it when users are ready to view. Depending on the services chosen, the video ability can be downloaded, streaming or both.
* Selection. Most personal computer television programs on the computer give their users a level of selection that covers more channels than most people even knew existed. Depending on the service that's used to create a PC TV set up, stations can be piped directly onto a computer from anywhere in the world or shows can be chosen for download.
* Pricing. The actual fees involved in computer TV service are a lot less than most people would think. Depending on the program in question, a set up that's reliable can cost as little as a one-time fee. Other services might charge by the month or year, but overall the selection versus the price of regular cable pretty much defies comparison.
* Reliability. As computer TV set ups become more widely accepted and embraced by television companies, Internet providers and computer users themselves, the reliability and quality is getting better and better.
As PC Television services moves forward in complexity, the set ups behind these systems are becoming better. More companies are starting to introduce services that enable a wireless link between regular computers and larger screen televisions. This means fans can download or stream their favorite shows on their computer, send them to wireless boxes and watch the actual shows on their television set
Technological advances in computer television seem to be growing in leaps and bounds every day. The biggest upcoming trend involves the ability to use a PC Television setup and pipe signals to any portable device that's hooked into a homeowner's network. This means a show can be sent from a PC to a portable device or any television in a home at the flick of a switch or darn near close to it.
Computer TV wasn't much to look at a few years ago, but as online viewing gains in popularity and demand, the programming options for viewers are becoming incredible. Viewers who choose to go this route can watch what they want, when they want it almost without exception thanks to today's technology.

Guide To Cheap Annual Travel Insurance

Traveling can be exciting and rewarding, but it can also be expensive when the unexpected occurs far from home such as sickness or injury, travel delay, baggage loss, or worse.
In the past decade medical costs have increased dramatically worldwide and even countries with subsidized National Health plans now demand payment in full from foreign visitors for medical services rendered.
At the same time travel suppliers such as airlines, and tour operators worldwide have made cancellation policies more restrictive, so if you have to cancel a trip it's likely that a substantial portion of your pre-paid travel expenses will not be refunded, and if you have to interrupt a trip mid-way, a last minute, one-way economy fare return-flight is now likely to be more costly than ever.
Moreover, the reality of global terrorism, increased travel industry bankruptcies, global economic instability, and the overall unpredictability of life today causes many people to seek ways to minimize the unique financial risks associated with travel.
As a result, savvy travelers purchase travel insurance in order to protect against the potentially staggering financial costs resulting from crises such as the cancellation of a big trip due to death or illness of a family member or a required emergency medical evacuation.
The further your trip will be, the more you will need travel insurance. This is common sense, as international trips are costly, so there's a need to protect your hard earned travel money. So wherever you go, to a local or international destination, it's very important that you have the necessary insurance coverage. Cheap annual travel insurance is an alternative choice for those budget- conscious travelers who are making more than one trip a year. The main feature of the annual travel insurance against regular travel insurance is that it saves you money. For a once annual payment, you become covered whenever you travel during the year. The terms and conditions vary between companies, but annual insurance for unlimited travel is also available. Cheap annual travel insurance provides substantial cost savings than any regular type of travel insurance.
Here are some tips for choosing your best cheap annual travel insurance
1. Sign up with a reputable insurance company that has worldwide offices which can easily be contacted during emergency need
2. The insurance company should have a 24/7 customer assistance which is an essential for international traveler
3. Always make your office's 1-800 number available to you when you are abroad.
4. The cost of the insurance should not be more than 10% of your investment.
5. Read the terms and conditions of the policy to make sure you aren't buying unnecessary or inadequate coverage.
6. Look for refundable policy, especially if you have the history of changing your mind too often.
7. A good insurance should cover at least the following
a. Flight cancellation or delay b. Luggage loss and delay c. Sickness and accident during the trip. d. Evacuation support during an emergency situation such as natural calamities
Cheap annual travel insurance is good for you if you take vacations more than once a year. Instead of taking several insurance each time you travel, you can make use of a single travel insurance that could save you a lot of money and time. On the other hand, if you travel less often, an annual insurance policy is not for you since you will not be able to recover the cost.

Shop DEA Auctions for Awesome Savings and Selection

The United States Drug Enforcement Agency is one of the busiest policing entities in the world. Tracking criminals, busting bad guys and beating back the drug trade comes along with a lot of seizures, however. This means those who track and follow DEA auctions can find themselves with an incredible selection of merchandise to browse and buy for pennies on the dollar.
The advantages to following DEA auctions with an eye for buying are many. Perhaps the biggest perk of these auctions, however, is the sheer selection of merchandise to choose from. The fact is bad guys have a lot of stuff and that stuff tends to be seized when the bad guys are busted. This means their belongings can very well end up at DEA auctions and in your hand
Here are some of the main classes of items people can find at DEA auctions
* Vehicles. Cars, trucks and sports utility vehicles that have been used during the commission of felonies can find themselves up for grabs at DEA auctions. These vehicles will vary in condition, but the pricing generally just can't be beat. Models here will range from high-end sports cars to every day vehicles and everything in between.
* Boats. There's just something about watercraft and the drug trade that seems to go together. With this in mind, DEA auctions typically have more than their fair share of boats up for grab
* Electronics. From surveillance devices to DVD players, computers and more, these items are also seized during the course of a normal day's work for a DEA agent and often land in DEA auctions. Cameras, game systems and more are also not unheard of at these auction
* Jewelry. Everything from high-end diamonds to gold and silver can land in a DEA auction. The bad guy's loss can be a bidder's gain.
* Property. Single-family homes, duplexes and more that are used in the drug trade can be seized and sold by the agency at DEA auctions. While these will cost more than a car or a truck, the bargains can be very real.
* Furniture. When a house is seized, so too is its contents, generally. This means those who attend DEA auctions can find great furniture buys in addition to everything else available.
* Farm equipment. Heavy machinery and farm implements are often found at DEA auction
* Coins, stamps, collectibles. Investment items such as these are often seized during the course of business by this agency. This means followers of DEA auctions can get some great bargains on items that can be held onto as they appreciate in value.
* Appliances. Even washers, dryers and refrigerators find themselves included in DEA auctions. If it goes in a house, on a boat or in a car, it can generally be found at auction.
DEA auctions are very unique in the amount and type of merchandise they tend to include. Offering a little bit of everything, these auctions are loved by bargain hunters that don't mind making a bad guy's loss their gain.

Take Two Verbs and Call Me in the Morning!

The use of language is pure magic! As far as humans go, it's one of our species' most amazing evolutionary developments. No matter what country we live in or continent we call home, the use of language is one of the few things all of us share.
Around the world mankind uses literally thousands of languages and dialects. All of them express our deepest thoughts and most private feelings.
Language also records our histories and tells our stories. It doesn't matter whether we are using the written or spoken forms of our languages, we cherish them.
Language is powerful. It expresses our opinions, and some of us will argue to the bitter end just to have the last word of it. Everyone knows the last word is always the most important one.
Nothing like a word can cut us to the quick or impassion us with emotions we didn't know we could feel.
Language is personal, intimate, and much more. It defines us individually. Our use of spoken words is a huge part of our personal, national and cultural identity.
Language is our soul, the very essence of our being. Our accent and use of words identifies us with certain geographic areas. It makes us part of a group.
Just as we have different fingerprints, our voice prints are different too. When one becomes accustomed to hearing the beautiful lilt of a sweet, southern drawl, there's nothing else like it in the linguistic world. Itss simply the type of language and sound that makes us feel comfortable and "at home".
The sounds of our own voices are ingrained in every fiber of our beings. One of my adult students once said that when he began to speak Spanish it not only felt funny but it sounded funny too. He said it was like hearing a cartoon duck's voice coming out of his mouth instead of his own!
From the moment we wake up each morning until we fall asleep, most of us are talking. We simply don't think about the amazing neurological process that is involved in making every sound we utter. We simply open our mouths, and words pour out.
For most of us, the ability to use the English language is one that we take for granted. But, have you ever thought about just how important language is to you?
What would you do if you woke up tomorrow in another country where your native language wasn't the one you heard, understood or needed to speak? Could you develop a communications strategy that would allow you to not only survive-- but to thrive?
Today this complicated issue faces many of our citizens. Thousands are learning Spanish, while thousands more are struggling to learn English. Somewhere we will meet in the linguistic middle.
Learning another language in adulthood is outrageously difficult. All the linguistic cards are stacked against us.
Acquiring a new language takes dedication, desire, and practice however, we are impatient and we want to acquire fluency with ease. We want to learn to speak another language at the speed of a Porsche cruising down a superhighway.
In actuality, the process of learning another language in adulthood is more like riding in a Model T bouncing down an unpaved road. Your journey probably won't be smooth, and you can expect some starting and stopping along the way to achieving proficiency.
Many professionals I work with experience these painful bumps in the linguistic road. One of my great joys is hearing their success stories, and one of my greatest challenges is motivating them to continue their journey when they have a Spanish language fender-bender. So, I was surprised a few days ago when a doctor who had participated in one of my seminars called to invite me to lunch with his family.
"There's something I want to share with you," Dr. Taylor said.
Over lunch he explained his personal goals for learning Spanish to me. "Reaching out to my Spanish-speaking patients so they understand their illnesses and their treatments is constantly on my mind," he said. Then he continued, "I want to find out as much as I can about their lives and their families. This helps me treat the whole person and not just the parts."
At the end of our lunch together Dr. Taylor told me that he had come to realize something about the art of practicing medicine and the art of communication.
"No matter how hard we try," he said, "both are imperfect sciences. You told us it was more important to communicate and not to worry about our grammar mistakes. So, I don't worry about it now. I just get out there and do my best. My patients seem to appreciate that."
"Well, doc," I said, "I couldn't be happier to hear of your progress. It looks like you are going to make a full linguistic recovery.
"Take two verbs and call me in the morning!"

Bamboo Wood Flooring Is Hot

What a great choice. Bamboo is one of the hottest wood flooring trends at the moment and with good reason. It's durable, low maintenance, very pleasing to the eye and it's not too precious to live with. Aside from those qualities, it's also a wonderful material in terms of sustainability, the latest environmental buzz word.
Since it's actually a grass, and can be harvested time and again from the same plant, it produces a crop every 3 to 4 years, making it very handy indeed. Even the manufacturing processes are environmentally friendly, so jump on the bandwagon and tell your friends!
Now, as for the best method to install bamboo wood flooring, well it all depends on your skills level, how much you really want to do it yourself and whether saving money is a big factor to you.
Concrete slab floor
You also have to be aware that there are some preliminaries that need to be observed before you even choose a method to install bamboo flooring. Firstly, what kind of floor do you have? A concrete slab will need to be absolutely flat and clean, not to mention dry. Bamboo is excellent for resisting moisture, but a dry surface is the best starting point for any flooring installation.
Do a moisture test by taping a plastic bag on to the cement and leave it there for 24 hours. When you remove it, if there is moisture on the plastic, then you will need to take steps to remedy it. Gluing is necessary for installing bamboo flooring to a cement slab and it's vital that you use an adhesive recommended for this material.
Wood sub floor
If you have a wood sub floor, it too must be clean, flat and dry. Sheets of ply of a minimum thickness of 5/8" are most commonly used for wood sub floors. Remember that if you're installing the sub floor over a crawlspace, a moisture barrier of 1/4" polyurethane sheeting is advised to go over the soil.
Glue down installation
After acclimating the bamboo you'll be using on your floors for 2 to 3 days before installation, you can then set to work. Manufacturers recommend glue down as the best method to install bamboo wood flooring, though it can also be installed using nails or staples. Nailing and stapling require more expertise and specialized equipment so unless you're keen to go the difficult route, gluing is far preferable for these reasons.
Before you begin any type of remodeling work, you need to determine how you will go about it. Some graph paper will help you to create a diagram of your floor to scale. Mark in all the measurements and from those you can calculate how many bamboo planks you'll require to finish the job.
Figure a 1/2" expansion space between planks and walls into your calculations otherwise they'll be incorrect. Installing the bamboo flooring itself is relatively easy but if your measurements are out, you will make the job harder.
Also before you start, it's a good idea to spread out the bamboo flooring planks to get a good look at the natural variations in color. This will help you determine how to distribute them in a way that allows the contrasts to work successfully. Otherwise you could wind up with dark boards all in one area and lighter ones elsewhere no balance at all.
The right glue for the job
Always use manufacturer recommended adhesives when you install bamboo wood flooring. Using an inferior product or one that is not intended for this kind of flooring will bring costly results. It would be a great shame to install your flooring then have to pull it all up and start again.
In summary, the best method to install wood flooring is the glue down method. For nailing or stapling, call in professional wood flooring contractors, who have all the expertise and tools needed for the task.
